Star had already caught two frogs but she continued her search in Pineclan territory determinedly

Palepaw was out hunting by himself, searching specifically for squirrels. His mentor's words kept ringing in his ears: "If you see a tribe cat, don't engage it. Come back to camp and get me or another warrior." He sighed, daydreaming about the honor he would get if he chased one off.

Star kept searching deeper into Pineclan territory, part of her knew she should be more aware of her surroundings but her determination to catch at least one more piece of prey pushed her forward.

Palepaw sighed and shook his head in an attempt to clear his mind. He slipped into the hunter's crouch and almost instantly smelled a squirrel he hadn't noticed before. He glanced up into a huge pine that was next to him, and saw a bushy gray tail flicking with joy. "Perfect" he thought, and spang straight up, twisting in mid-air and swipping at the squirrel's tail. He missed and sunk his claws into the rough bark, hauling himself the rest of the way up the tree and leaping after the squirrel. The squirrel cornered itself on the end of a precariously thin branch. Palepaw sprang, snagged the squirrel and landed on all-fours. "Yes!" he meowed loudly, eyes gleaming in triumph.
