«We Could Be Legends»

Toby glanced behind him, and saw Bleddyn following him. In the brief moment he looked away someone took that moment to punch him in the face. Toby stumbled backwards and growled. He punched the woman back and kicked her into the wall, where he quickly killed her. He used her body as a shield as someone tried to shoot him, and then threw her into the nearest person attacking him. A sudden wave of dizziness crashed over him. Again? He thought. He leaned against the wall & started kicking at people by him.

Wolfram stared at her while she walked away."Fine!"He snarled."I'll just act like I don't care anymore, because for a fact, Bleddyn? I don't anymore!" But I do....Why can't she see that...I'm trying to help, but I was such a jerk before.....

"The feeling's always been mutual!" she fired over her shoulder. God knows I've never been so pleased to have someone pissed with me.
Stumbling forward was getting progressively harder. Their exit was unobstructed enough, but Toby seemed to be a sweet attractant to swarming guards. Bleddyn swung a brutal punch at a woman that he'd swiftly disarmed, but quickly found that throwing her own balance off like that was too likely to trip her onto the floor. She started forward again, studying how Toby's face kept crumpling in anguish with every new expenditure of energy. Shoot, there's something really wrong with him.
She flung herself off her heel, praying that she wouldn't end up on her face. Instead, she landed where she'd planned and rammed herself against the target assailant's side, freeing up Toby somewhat. If this one has a lethal, I'm quite dead. "Go, get out of here!"

"Maybe if you stopped for half a heartbeat, you would see I actually really care about you."Wolfram snarled, suddenly beside her. He grabbed a knife that had fallen, stabbing another on coming guard in the chest."Stay away from my friends!"He snarled, lurching forward to throw the dead guard off.

"Ugh, you disgust me, Wolfram. How many girl's do you think you've gotta impress?"Mapleshade cooed, grabbing the back off his shirt."It's quite pathetic, really. I mean, Lily was quite the fail, wasn't she? Give up on loving someone, sweetheart. Beside, she's just a human."

Wolfram trembled, gritting his teeth."Why should I care if she's just a human? She's got strength, or do you doubt that?"He hissed.

"Tell me."Mapleshade snarled, jerking him back towards her."Do you like her? Not just as a person, but do you have feelings for her, just like you did that pathetic Lily girl?"

Toby glanced at her. "You expect me to hide in the car like a coward while people die? No." He said, and winced. He punched another person in the nose, and with his other hand he stabbed him in the chest. "They're like freaking zombies! How are they still coming?" Toby said to himself. He was starting to see double, so when he tried to punch someone he missed, and she punched the back of his head. He stumbled forward and grabbed another person to use as a shield. The woman tried to punch him again, but instead punched another member of the Pure.

Sherri kicked her in the back with a huge grin on her face.
Indigo put her face up to Toby's, looking deep into his eyes with her own hypnotic violet ones, though now his were blue. "It's alright," she whispered. This was a noninvasive magic that you wouldn't notice, harmless really. It calmed you and cleared your mind of darkness and spinning thoughts.
It kinda warmed your soul up like a hug and dusted out the dark corners.
She really should have been a therapist instead of this.
She then continued to clear a path out.

Toby calmed down a little. He nodded at her, and continued to help clear a path.

His shoulders trembled underneath her ruthless grasp. He should have foughten back, stabbed her with the knife still clenched in his weakening fist maybe. But instead her just stood there, his breath hitching in his throat.
"Well? Speak, Child!"She snarled in his ear, baring her fang like teeth.
"I will not bow and I will not break to you."He hissed softly, his teeth clenched together tightly. His eyes stung at the mention of Lily. You know the best ways to break me. It's unfair.
"Really? Are you sure about that?"Her silky soft whisper echoed in his ear, dripping with a deadly poison."I know the best way's to break you, Wolfram. Are you sure you won't answer?"
Wolfram's fist clenched tighter, his knuckles solid white, one hand clenched tightly around the knife still."I will not break to you."
Mapleshade jerked him back, holding his back to her chest."I think you made a wrong mistake."She growled softly."I know you love her. I know in some sick, twisted way, deep down, you love her. It's pathetic, really. What do you find attractive about her? She's ugly and has a nasty temper, like a cat. Oh wait, that's perfect. Because that's what you are."
His throat tightened, his hands trembling."If you want to hate someone so much, why don't you look in the mirror?"
A low chuckle echoed in Mapleshade's throat, Echoing in his ear disturbingly."Fiesty temper."She purred."Really though, what is so attractive about her? She hates your guts, why would you like such a horrid creature?"
He lifted his foot, and slammed his heel against her legs. He spun around, slamming her against the wall. His hand shook as he held the knife above her throat."Say it again!"He all but shrieked, staring at her with enraged blue eyes."Say that she's ugly and horrid again, I dare you!"
"So protective, dear. Do you, oh, shall I say, love her?" Her long, skinny fingers traced his cheek, her nails like claws. Her nails traced the scratches on his cheek, a sly smirk creeping across her face.
His breath came in gasps of rage as he stared at her. He didn't speak, only tried to steady his violently shaking hand, the knife trembling over her throat.
"Do it, revenge your mothers death. I dare you. But know if you do, I will find a way to kill Bleddyn."
Wolfram suddenly grabbed her, slamming her onto the ground. He stood over her, holding the knife out over her throat."You will never touch her!"He snarled."I would kill myself three times over before I let anyone lay a finger on her if I could help it!"
Mapleshade let out a grunt of pain as she hit the floor, staring up at him with narrowed green eyes. She reached toward his trembling arm, sitting up slightly. She ran her hand over the scars on his pale skin."But you tried that before, and didn't get to far, now did you?"She tilted her head, looking at him with a dark look glittering in her emerald eyes."You hate yourself so much you would kill yourself to save her?"
His skin crawled as she touched his arm, running her fingers over the scars that brought back so many memories. His voice shuddered, trembling as he spoke.
"Yes. I would. Because I care and I'm loyal to people I care about, unlike you!"
His eyes stung with tears as he slammed her back to the ground, the knife trembling.
"Don't think I don't understand loyalty because I have no one left to be loyal to.
I was loyal to your mother. Look how far that got me. She betrayed me, because she was weak. She was such a fool she had to betray her closet friend. You're a fool to, you're so weak you crumble anytime I open my mouth."
"You don't know what it's like to be a outsider, Mapleshade, to be ashamed of how you where born!"He snarled.
"Oh but I do. I know how it hurts you. I know how I hurt you."
Wolfram trembled, and suddenly, Mapleshade surged up, throwing her brute strength against him, throwing him against the wall. He felt screeching pain against his head, and before he knew it, he was on the ground, could metal walls against his back, his vision blurring. Seconds later he heard Mapleshade walking away.[/I]
