"I don't know." Jessi replied, looking around. She sighed. "I wish I could've skipped school today, but if I miss any more days I'm going to get suspended, or worse, expelled." She said.
"Yeah, I know how you feel.", Fritz sighed, remembering the rest of the gang. "I wonder if the others will come today.", he mumbled.

Not long after sitting down a large crowd of chattering teens poured into the room, some of the more quiet kids carefully stuffing their bags under their desks, others tossing them haphazardly in the walkway next to their seat. Snipets of conversation escaped the overwheming noise. Something about Lucy and her sister getting in trouble over the weekend seemed to be the secondary topic of converstion, the winner being the teachers late and speculation on the reason behind it.

Fritz sprinted in and promptly fell on his face. Ow... He hoped that everyone was too busy chattering to have noticed... Nope. All attention was on him now. Great. He made his way to the back of the classroom and sat at his desk.

Jessi bolted into the classrooms and took a seat in the back. She smiled and waived at Brisa, and looked over at Fritz when he fell down. "You okay?" She asked him quietly. She looked out the classroom door and saw Toby walking past with lots of cleaning supplies.
"Yeah, I'm fine.", Fritz said and smiled meekly. He peered up to see that the teacher still wasn't there. "Where do you think *insert teacher's name* is?"

"I don't know." Jessi replied, looking around. She sighed. "I wish I could've skipped school today, but if I miss any more days I'm going to get suspended, or worse, expelled." She said.

"I don't know, I don't think Lachlan is. Or Camilla." Jessi said. "You know, maybe if the teacher is late for long enough we could skip this class."
Brisa opened her eyes as the talking became louder and sat up in her seat as some of her new friends entered. She waved back to Jessi and was about to speak when the boy fell. It was that pizza guy! She still couldn’t remember his name. “I heard that if the teacher is fifteen minutes late you can get up and leave with no consequences, but I doubt that’s true.” She chimed in.

Jessi looked at Brisa. "That would be cool if it's true." She said, and looked around. She leaned in a little closer. "Do you still have the key?" She asked quietly out of earshot of the others.

Brisa nodded. “Yeah. It’s in my pocket because I wasn’t sure where else to put it.” She replied.

Jenna shook her head. "Not really." She said. She looked at Finlay. "Please, call me Jenna. Yes, we should have food at the bottom of the cabinet. I am not a dog person -or even an animal person, the only animal I've taken care of is Toby's dog- so I do not know if they can eat it." She said.
"Okay then, Jenna." Finlay said with a quick and kind nod. "Thank you, and yes, I believe they should be able to. Mind if I use some paper bowls for them?"

Alice smiled gently, "Look." She said turning her own face toward the window. "It's sunny. She isn't sad anymore. So let's try to be happy too."

Alice turned her gaze to him and smiled, "Hey." Then she frowned. "Wait where were you? Didn't you stay here last night?"

Bleddyn gave a surprised little huff at Alice's contagious encouragement and straightened up. "When you put it that way, it gets even more sad, you know," she murmured, reaching out to playfully mess her cousin's already scruffy hair. "But I'll do my part if you can do yours."

"I stayed here, but I went over to my moms....Er what was my moms....apartment and got whatever was left of my stuff." Wolfram replied dully, throwing his phone onto the couch as he sat down. It buzzed to life as Lily flooded it with text messages, beeping repeatedly. He let out a snarl, picking up the phone and quickly blocking her number. "Maybe she'll leave me alone now." He hissed softly.

Bleddyn glared over at Wolfram, irked at him and his hyperactive phone for having shattered the pitiful peace. "Geeze, we just woke up. Can't whoever that is chill?"

Wolfram flinched, looking up from his phone. "S-sorry, I-I didn't mean to disturb you." He looked down quickly, silencing his phone as a unknown number started texting him. Must be one of Lily's friends...Great. I hate my life. He pulled the hood of his sweatshirt over his face, not even daring to look at Bleddyn.
