«We Could Be Legends»

Lachlan bit his lip, the sound of crumbling buildings ringing in his ears, and shook his head. "No, I can fly. Take Camilla." He murmured, pushing his trembling cousin towards the car, glancing at the others. "Connor, Mom, Finlay, Alice, Brisa, go with Jenna in her car. I'll follow." He order, shifting into a crow and rising into the air clumsily.
Brisa sat anxiously in the backseat, mentally and quite aimlessly screaming at the others to hurry. She closed her eyes and took some deep breaths in order to calm herself, her mind drifting to her parents. Calm down! Mom can hold the ceiling with her telekinesis and her and Dad will be fine. Oh dear God, watch over them!
"Sherri can shift into a cat, Lach. She can sit with Brisa." Wolfram nodded as Lachlan shifted into a crow, "be careful, Lachlan. Don't get hurt." His gaze drifted to Camilla's trembling form, his hand pulling the backseat door open, "just breathe, it's going to be fine," he murmured, before suddenly giving a sudden jerk as another building gave a terrifying groan and rapidly fell apart, "I spoke to soon. Get in the car now, Camilla!"

Jenna looked at Lachlan. "Your crow form is small, you could perch on the back of someone's seat. I've seen you fly before, and I'm sorry, but you are not good at it. Get in the car." She told him.
(I LOVE JENNA XD XD XD)
Lachlan cawed in offense, but alighted on the ground all the same, giving a slight nod, and flew into Jenna's car through a open door, perching on the top of a seat, watching as his brother, Finlay, scrambled in after him, positioning himself in the seat.

Camilla spooked, basically falling into the car as the buildings crumbled. "Okay, okay." She mumbled under her breath, staring wide eyed out the window at the city in turmoil.

Wolfram's small black form burst into the clearing, a series of gunshot's filling the forest as his aching legs led him into the parking lot, where he ultimately fell into a heap just behind Jenna's van. He drew in shuddering breaths, before shifting into his human form, and heaved himself from the ground. I can't do this much longer. "She...they...are...following..." He paused, a ragged cough wracking his body, "they're following us. Pure members. She got away," he huffed to the group, clinging to the vans bumper, "we have to get out of here."

Brisa whirled at the sound of gunshots just in time to see the small black cat racing towards them. “Okay, well, Indigo and Jesse left unexpectedly, so we all will have to fit into your car.” She replied quickly, not wanting to waste time. Noticing his painful breathing, she asked, “Are you guys okay? Nothing happened, right?”

Sherri nodded. "I can be a cat. That will take up less space," she said.

"F-fine...just shifted...one to many times," Wolfram huffed. He looked around the group, and shook his head, "we won't all fit in–" he stopped, his head swiveling around to stare at a house across the street. It was incredibly old, and abandoned, but the ominous creaking that it emitted unnerved the shifter. Suddenly it gave a massive creak, before the house literally fell apart before his eyes. "Oh no."

Still in human form, Sherri screamed and turned her ears back, fluffing her tail. "Mapleshade!" She hissed. "Brisa, use your powers! With the heat vision and telekinesis, you can locate Mapleshade, and maybe steal the key!"

Wolfram slapped his hands over his ears as the creaking noise grew louder, emitting from every building. "We have to get out of here, now! I think I know what's happening!"

"What do you mean?" Sherri was already 30 feet away, ears pinned to her head, tail electric.

"The town is falling apart, Sherri! We have to get out of here!" Wolfram snarled, pulling the door to his car open.

Not what I meant by "what do you mean..."
Sherri bolted into the car and shifted back into her furrier self, before realizing no one was following.
She turned and shoved her round, feline head against the people's calves, hoping this simple action would make them go faster.

Wolfram snatched his keys from the seat of his car, and hissed at Sherri. "Come off it, Sherri! I'm trying here!" He glanced back at the group, "my car can only fit so many people. Who ever can't shift into a fast running animal, get in."

“Why is the town falling apart?!” Brisa yelled at him over the loud crashing sounds of houses collapsing around them. Flicking back and forth between her heat and X-ray vision, she spotted a small feline figure darting out from behind the now destroyed old house. “Guys, I think Mapleshade’s over there!” She pointed, shading her eyes in an attempt to see better.

"If we get out of here I'll tell you," Wolfram hissed, "get in, now, Brisa. We have no chance at winning against her."

Brisa sat anxiously in the backseat, mentally and quite aimlessly screaming at the others to hurry. Sticking her hands into her pockets forcefully, she turned her eyes to the car’s roof and took some deep breaths in order to calm herself, her mind drifting to her parents. Calm down! Mom can hold the ceiling with her telekinesis and her and Dad will be fine. It wasn’t helping. She squeezed her eyes shut. Oh dear God, watch over them!

Both adult Asfaws stood in contrite silence while this slew of pressing developments was forced on them all. As if by telepathic unanimity neither of them possessed, both husband and wife remained calmly unaffected until it had all clearly come down to just them.
Suddenly, Ash whirled around and grabbed her husband by his neckline. Standing on tiptoe, she just managed to press trembling lips to his. She kissed him for a long moment, her hammering heart seeming to echo loudly from her chest to his.
"I love you, okay?" she whispered hoarsely into his ear just before she shrank back down. She was prepared to let him pull her in for a reassuring embrace until a shop bordering the bank began to crumble, as though effortlessly picked apart by an invisible set of fingers.
With a shake intake of air, Ash forcefully shoved him away and strode off for Wolfram's car, catching Bleddyn's arm as she went.
"Ew, you guys," she complained disgustedly as she was herded into Wolfram's loitering van, but even her words were noticeably subdued by the sudden panic.
Still stung by his Ash's well-meaning push, Connor somberly watched his family cram themselves in with hollow eyes, then heaved a sigh that triggered an inexorable ripple effect of shifting.
Once completely transformed, he bounded up to the van and put his nose to the glass that dared separate his wife from him. Bleddyn, squished against her mother on the overcrowded seat, opened her mouth to comment on her mother's noticeable trembling, but took another look at her father's expression and turned away in shame.
"I love you, too," Connor mouthed in mournful canine silence. It was an effort for him to turn away; and when he finally did, it felt as if he'd left a large, vital part of himself attached to Ash's glistening eyes.
He trotted over to the two other wolves with a stiff and slack tail, yet his head was held high. However much he was aware of the mortality of the trailing shifters, he would face this with unwavering resolve.

Wolfram slammed the front door closed, narrowly avoiding slamming his leg in the door. He shuddered, shoving the key into the ignition, as another building crumbling into pieces. "I think I know what's happening," he backed the car out of the space, and no matter how hard he tried to keep his voice calm, there was a noticeable shudder in his tone, "the poison. I think...I think something's gone wrong when Mapleshade set it off. M-maybe it doesn't j-just target t-the Inhuman gene, m-maybe it...it destroy's w-wood, or...or m-maybe a sort of metal." He pulled from the parking lot quickly, not daring to look at Jenna's van one last time. Where do I go? Out of the city? To the crystal cave? Not Jessi's, not Mom's, not River's, that'll be targeted to. Oh God, please, please don't let any one get hurt.
"I-I don't k-know for sure. I-I'm just guessing h-here. I-I don't even k-know how long the poison takes t-to kill someone. Maybe...maybe if we get out of the town, we'll be out of range from the poisons effects, t-then we can...figure something out. Get to the Multitude, o-or find s-someone who k-knows something about the poison. Then go from there."

The small vile fell to the cold ground with a loud clatter, the glass shattering into a million shards on the rock. Wind licked her ginger and black hair, swirling the soft fur on her scarred, cat like ears, nipped at her mangled face, tugged on the black jacket that hung from her shoulders; the sleeves frayed and pale. Fury burned like fire in her single green eye, her long, spider like fingers flexing, the sharp nails suddenly digging into delicate palms; crimson blood trickling in a low stream down her pale, scarred hands. "No," she seethed suddenly, with such hatred in her low, hissing voice, it made the poor, innocent Inhuman in front of her flinch.
"M-Miss," he uttered in a low, whimpering voice, "let me go, I beg you. I'm merely a old man, I wish you no harm."
"No!" She shrieked, causing a bird to take off from the tree tops. She slammed a hand against a cedar tree, and clawed at the bark, showering the stone ground beside it. "The lying, moronic, cowardly half-blood tricked me! He gave me a faux Key!" A suddenly, malevolent grin crossed her face, revealing sharp fangs. "Wonderful." She said slowly. "Now I can make him pay even more, torture him into giving me the real Key. Him and his friends will wish they never saw the light of day."

(Ooo :))
Brisa pulled out her phone. “Mom?” She said when the ringing had stopped and Mikki’s voice came through. “Listen. Don’t talk, just listen. Do you remember the poison that melted Gage’s wings off? Well, a crazy cat lady named Mapleshade just unleashed in on the city and I need you to get out, okay? Get out. I love you! I’m safe, don’t worry about me.” She urged, her voice trembling. “Bye.” She hung up with shaking hands and leaned back against the seat, drawing in a small, sharp breath. “Would Gage know about the poison?” She asked, hoping someone knew the answer.

"Who is Gage?" Wolfram hissed, wincing as the piercing sound of police sirens split the air. The black and white cars sped past him, ignoring how fast he was going. "You'll never find her," he whispered to himself. Crystal cave. Go there, find shelter, get plan. And figure out who Gage is?

“Gage is Aunt Misty’s husband. He’s the owner of the diner we met you at.” Brisa explained, glad for something to do. “Back when my mom and the others were part of the Heroes a man named Firestein threw some of it at him and it melted off his wings. He almost died. Maybe he’s looked into what the poison even is.”

"Firestein..." Wolfram mused softly. "Here's the plan. We get out of the city," he took a sudden sharp turn, and sped down the road at what was probably a dangerous speed, "get to where Alice, River, Taylor and I found the crystals, hopefully meet up with Jenna's group, and go from there, possibly find this...Gage. Right now we have to get out of the city, I think it's the safest option." I hope.
