Wolfram slammed the front door closed, narrowly avoiding slamming his leg in the door. He shuddered, shoving the key into the ignition, as another building crumbling into pieces. "I think I know what's happening," he backed the car out of the space, and no matter how hard he tried to keep his voice calm, there was a noticeable shudder in his tone, "the poison. I think...I think something's gone wrong when Mapleshade set it off. M-maybe it doesn't j-just target t-the Inhuman gene, m-maybe it...it destroy's w-wood, or...or m-maybe a sort of metal." He pulled from the parking lot quickly, not daring to look at Jenna's van one last time. Where do I go? Out of the city? To the crystal cave? Not Jessi's, not Mom's, not River's, that'll be targeted to. Oh God, please, please don't let any one get hurt.
"I-I don't k-know for sure. I-I'm just guessing h-here. I-I don't even k-know how long the poison takes t-to kill someone. Maybe...maybe if we get out of the town, we'll be out of range from the poisons effects, t-then we can...figure something out. Get to the Multitude, o-or find s-someone who k-knows something about the poison. Then go from there."

The small vile fell to the cold ground with a loud clatter, the glass shattering into a million shards on the rock. Wind licked her ginger and black hair, swirling the soft fur on her scarred, cat like ears, nipped at her mangled face, tugged on the black jacket that hung from her shoulders; the sleeves frayed and pale. Fury burned like fire in her single green eye, her long, spider like fingers flexing, the sharp nails suddenly digging into delicate palms; crimson blood trickling in a low stream down her pale, scarred hands. "No," she seethed suddenly, with such hatred in her low, hissing voice, it made the poor, innocent Inhuman in front of her flinch.
"M-Miss," he uttered in a low, whimpering voice, "let me go, I beg you. I'm merely a old man, I wish you no harm."
"No!" She shrieked, causing a bird to take off from the tree tops. She slammed a hand against a cedar tree, and clawed at the bark, showering the stone ground beside it. "The lying, moronic, cowardly half-blood tricked me! He gave me a faux Key!" A suddenly, malevolent grin crossed her face, revealing sharp fangs. "Wonderful." She said slowly. "Now I can make him pay even more, torture him into giving me the real Key. Him and his friends will wish they never saw the light of day."
