«We Could Be Legends»

It didn't take feline ears to pick up on the urgency in Wolfram's sudden change of course. And once Sherri followed without question, Connor was made completely aware of some imminent danger. Doesn't take genius to figure out what it's got to be, either.
After a fleeting glance into the veiling unknown, he hoisted himself up and hurtled over the wall, leaping straight into a dead run for the bank parking lot. He nearly paused to shift when brambles started ripping shreds out of his jeans, but thought better of it when a gunshot resounded somewhere in the woods behind him.
He charged out into the sanctuary of the open, breathless. "You...cats..." he puffed out as he made his way up to the dwindled crowd, not quite sure what exact words he had for the more shift-minded shifters.
Wolfram's small black form burst into the clearing, a series of gunshot's filling the forest as his aching legs led him into the parking lot, where he ultimately fell into a heap just behind Jenna's van. He drew in shuddering breaths, before shifting into his human form, and heaved himself from the ground. I can't do this much longer. "She...they...are...following..." He paused, a ragged cough wracking his body, "they're following us. Pure members. She got away," he huffed to the group, clinging to the vans bumper, "we have to get out of here."

Brisa whirled at the sound of gunshots just in time to see the small black cat racing towards them. “Okay, well, Indigo and Jesse left unexpectedly, so we all will have to fit into your car.” She replied quickly, not wanting to waste time. Noticing his painful breathing, she asked, “Are you guys okay? Nothing happened, right?”

Sherri nodded. "I can be a cat. That will take up less space," she said.

"F-fine...just shifted...one to many times," Wolfram huffed. He looked around the group, and shook his head, "we won't all fit in–" he stopped, his head swiveling around to stare at a house across the street. It was incredibly old, and abandoned, but the ominous creaking that it emitted unnerved the shifter. Suddenly it gave a massive creak, before the house literally fell apart before his eyes. "Oh no."

Still in human form, Sherri screamed and turned her ears back, fluffing her tail. "Mapleshade!" She hissed. "Brisa, use your powers! With the heat vision and telekinesis, you can locate Mapleshade, and maybe steal the key!"

Wolfram slapped his hands over his ears as the creaking noise grew louder, emitting from every building. "We have to get out of here, now! I think I know what's happening!"

"What do you mean?" Sherri was already 30 feet away, ears pinned to her head, tail electric.

"The town is falling apart, Sherri! We have to get out of here!" Wolfram snarled, pulling the door to his car open.
Not what I meant by "what do you mean..."
Sherri bolted into the car and shifted back into her furrier self, before realizing no one was following.
She turned and shoved her round, feline head against the people's calves, hoping this simple action would make them go faster.

Wolfram snatched his keys from the seat of his car, and hissed at Sherri. "Come off it, Sherri! I'm trying here!" He glanced back at the group, "my car can only fit so many people. Who ever can't shift into a fast running animal, get in."
