«We Could Be Legends»

Jessi stared absent mindedly as she watched everything happen. She saw Toby run away & almost went after him but she stopped herself. He'll be fine she thought.

A few people stopped to ask if Toby was okay, until they saw the service dog. Most of them were smart enough to keep walking, but those who weren't left when Toby looked at them. He was cold and wet. He didn't know what was rain and what was tears. He pulled out his phone to look where he was but his hands were shaking too much. He felt sick, like he was going to throw up I should call Charlie to pick me up. No, I don't want to bother him. He said if I needed something I could call him. No, I won't bother him. Toby thought. Between Alpha & the mediation he was starting to calm down. He stared up into the sky and closed his eyes, feeling the cold rain hit into his face.

"Maybe I should," Indigo said.
"No! The police are on our side!" Sherri said suddenly.

"Don't. I need you, I want you. You are wanted." Indigo's violet eyes were huge. She knew no one probably said that to him since his mother died.
A suddenly giant wave of unbearable grief crashed over Wolfram. He let out a choking, whimpering noise. His eyes clouding. No one but his mother said that to him. Then he straightened up."No! I won't fall into your tricks!"He hissed, his voice shaking. His whole body shaking.

"But I need your help. You are important, and a great person to have on our side." Indigo looked at the ground, her wet hair falling over her face. Her heels still burned.

Another soft whimper. His chest burned, aching to fall into her trickery. To feel wanted. To be liked for once."No!" He sobbed, the rain coming down hard, hard as it possibly could now.

Alice snapped back to reality how long had she been completely zoned out? She blinked bleary eyed up at wolframs back what was going on?

On our side? What?

Another soft whimper. His chest burned, aching to fall into her trickery. To feel wanted. To be liked for once."No!" He sobbed, the rain coming down hard, hard as it possibly could now.

Alice slowly got to her feet and walked over gently putting a hand on his hand that held the knife.

"Back away." She said calmly. Her eyes fixated on Indigo. What had she missed?

"Is there something wrong with being a good person?" Indigo asked sincerely. "What is wrong?"

Wolfram slowly turned his head to looked at her, trembling."No! I have to know the truth!"His voice was so desperate now, and he sounded afraid.
