«We Could Be Legends»

She heard but didn't really register what he yelled at her, she was surprised she'd been shoved away. Wasn't the whole point of this dream that she was supposed to heal people?
"Calm down, I can see that people are hurt. You're not helping. So sit back, shut up, and let me do my job." She growled pushing his shoulder back toward the flattened seat.
Wolfram slapped Alice's arm when she pushed him, pulling her hand away. Maybe that'll knock some sense into her.
"What is wrong with you right now?" He glanced back at Camilla, gesturing to Alice. "Camilla? This isn't normal, right? I'm not just making assumptions, right?"

Alice jumped away from him, holding her hand tightly over her stinging forearm, and watching him warily. She wanted to say nothing was wrong with her, but how could dreams hurt? Camilla? She looked to she sister, and then back to the cranky boy in front of her. Could this actually, really be happening?

Alice looked around in the darkness, there were hurt and bloody people everywhere, others laid motionless on the ground, for some reason she was sure they weren't just sleeping. No. No this isn't real. Something this big couldn't happen with out people noticing. There'd be police, Ambulances, Firemen, and a million flashing lights. There's nothing wrong with me. This is just a dream. Everything is fine.

"I'm fine." She finally responded her eyes fixed on a body laying in the grass. "Are you going to let me heal you or should I find someone else?" She asked quietly. Her eyes felt like they were burning, but not from tears, she blinked shaking her head, and finally turning her gaze back to Wolfram.

Wolfram looked at her, guilt creeping in. He knew he shouldn't have slapped her so hard. But why is she acting so weird?
"Fine," he finally murmured. "You can heal me."

Alice nodded, but didn't move toward him. Her blood covered fingers drew her attention as she pulled them away from her arm. They were cold from being wet in the chilly autumn air, and the coating of blood from the others she'd healed made her fingers stick to each other. The sensations were too real, too exact, to be something she was dreaming. Alice took an apprehensive breath, looking from her hand up to Wolfram. This is a dream. This has to be a dream. But what if it's not?

"I don't..." What if this is real? She put a hand to her chest, a painful stab of fear hitting her. "This isn't real." She whispered. "Wolfram?" She said firmly, demanding his attention. "I don't know you. We've never met." She was sure they hadn't. Nothing about him was familiar. "I'll heal you, but don't try to convince me you know me, or my family. We've never met."

"Yes, we have! What are you talking about, Alice?!" Wolfram snarled, shoving himself off the van to stand upright, looming over her. "We met in the coffee shop, where Delilah, Dyn and I got into a fight. Afterwards we were nearly kidnapped by the Pure, and you healed me, remember? I know who you are, I know what happened to your parents, Tayn and Thomas. I know your family. I know you told me not to tell anyone that you were a healer. You told me not to tell Bleddyn because you thought she didn't have powers, that you kept them hidden because you didn't want to make her jealous."
What is wrong with her? Did she hit her head? Or is she pretending...?
He leaned a hand against the van's doorframe, looking her dead in the eye. "Look me in the eye, and tell me you don't remember that. Tell me that you honestly don't remember anything. Tell me that you didn't tell me about your powers, tell me that you don't remember the key and Mapleshade and the Pure. Tell me that you don't remember that your own parents are dead!"

Jessi hesitated. ‘I don’t know if they’re okay, but they’re not dead.’ Jessi said. She stood up straighter at his complement, smiling at him. ‘Thank you, I’m glad some people think so,’ she looked around. ‘I left Toby over there. You can join me, or you can go back to the cars.’ She knew Crow would probably rather get to his children as quickly as possible, but she hoped he would stay with her so she could keep him safe incase the Pure tried to attack him again.
"If they're with the others, they're probably fine." Crow said, following her before he could think of anything to contradict himself.
Crow noticed something out of the corner of his eye. "Is that.. a chicken..?" He stared at the bantam rooster with confusion.
Frosty whipped around. "Oh, hey there, wyvern! Seems Mapleshade's been defeated at last!" He gave a few cheerful wing flaps and limped over to them. "Unless she's doing some sort of ambush and we're all doomed." He said, his pessimistic nature coming back for a moment.
"That chicken.. is speaking English, right? Not chickenese?" Crow turned to Jessi, bewildered.
"'That chicken'?!" Frosty chirped, puffing himself up. He waved his tail, which had been reduced to only a couple of feathers during the battle. "You should show some respect! I'm a member of the Multitude!"

Alice didn't shy away from Wolfram, angry now that he was trying to intimidate her. She interrupted his long winded rant, yelling, "I DON'T! I DON'T RE- w-what?" She stared at him horrified. "You're sick. What is wrong with you? My parents aren't dead!" Alice patted her pocket looking for her phone, she could easily prove they were fine she just had to call them. "Where's my phone?" She growled annoyed it wasn't in her pocket. "Whatever! You aren't making any sense. My parents are fine. I know they're fine. Which means you're not real, and this IS a dream."

Wolfram nearly choked on air at her words. "A dream?" He beckoned around them, incredulous. "I'm not making any sense? I'm not making any sense?! Wake up, Alice and take a look around you! This isn't a dream, this is reality!"
He heard Lily's voice in his ear, telling him to shut up and that he wasn't handling the situation correctly, but he wasn't done. He grabbed her by the wrist, and pinched the skin on her forearm. If I can't convince her verbally...
"You can't feel pain in dreams, remember?"

“Yeeeah,” Indigo drawled. “That chicken.”
By now she had gotten most of the zombies... I mean people... organized. She had even discovered some members of the Multitude that could help. Now they were figuring out what to do with the injured and such and she could focus on other matters. Like Toby. “Where’s Toby now?” she wondered.

Jessi walked to where she last saw Toby, anxious to make sure he was okay. But instead of finding her brother, she saw... a chicken?
‘Frosty?’
Jessi growled. She couldn’t help but laugh. How he managed to survive this long, she had no idea. She thought the stress would’ve killed him.
‘Uncle Crow, meet Frosty. Yes, he speaks perfect English. He’s part of the Multitude, and Indigo’s partner,’ Jessi said, looking at Crow. She turned her attention back to Frosty. ‘We’re going to the cars. Come here, I’ll give you a lift.’ Jessi lowered her wing, her claw outstretched to make a small perch.
