"Of course I'm fine." She said, dismissing his concern. "You're the one who's hurt." She frowned back at the open wound. "You're sure you don't want me to heal it?" She paused for a moment looking back at his face, wondering if she should know what his powers were, and if it would be strange for her to ask.
Toby pulled his shirt back over his shoulder, wincing as the fabric touched it. He knew it should get healed, and what the potential consequences were if he left it how it was, but the thought of not letting his magic get stronger seemed to outweigh anything else. But then again, it hurt.
He shook his head. “I’ll be okay. This isn’t- it isn’t that bad.” Toby tried to convince both Alice and himself of that, glancing at his shoulder. He hoped that if he said it enough times it would come true.
Alice's attention was partly divided between Toby and Jessi, who had found another person who was hurt.
Toby looked back up at Alice. “Go check on him,” He said softly. “He probably needs your help more than I do.”
