"Ah," Sherri said. "You don't look much like cousins," she openly admitted, then her cheeks flushed, with embarrassment, she hoped she hadn't offended Alice. "Is Brisa all right? I didn't see her where I was, she's my friend." Sherri's eyes were wide with concern.
Alice shrugged "We're not clones. Although Finley and Lachlan are twins." She shook her head that didn't really matter right now."I saw her with Yris. I think they both left at some point."
The lady ignored them partly because they had already done so to her and felt it fair to have some mutual ignorance, and the other half was because she was out of earshot. While Sherri was distracted by the tabby, and Alice in turn was distracted by Sherri, the mermaid had wheeled her way to the back of the store.
A register- which looked an aweful lot like an old typewriter- sat atop shelf which was hooked over a wall of glass three inches thick. The glass held back a deep tub of water, a sort of lounge for her, including a boyant inner tube, various snacks, and the purple flowers that were the source of the smell. Once she had wheeled herself up to the counter, she set the brakes on the chair, and then hoisted herself over the register. Apparently she didn't mind getting the wooden floor wet, for she pounced upon the innertube several feet away, splashing everything in a three-foot radius.
She laid back on the pooltoy with a sigh. "A pheonix starter? Why that's just exactly that a starter kit for a pheonix. Never had one myself, but inside that lil birdy's butt is a capsule with some ashes in it. All ye got to do is light the thing on fire and poof! Birdy. Course, I never had much need for one myself. As you could probably tell, I'm not a Pyro." Maryella sloshed to the other side of the pool and grabbed a bag of various candies from her clutch of sugary items. "So, uh..." she called, "That tall woman with the heels... she a friend of yours?"
"No I've never met her before. What do you know about the Pure, and the Multitude? I've never heard of them before." Alice said raising an eye brow at Sherri."Not exactly," Sherri said. "We don't know her. But she seemed really nice." She turned over the bird, and put it back on the shelf with remorse. She had always wanted a phoenix, but it wasn't hers to ask for.
"Welp, I'm no pyro," she said. "But I can turn the color of fire!"
She shifted into a flaming red tabby. She was smaller than the sand colored cat.
