«We Could Be Legends»

Despite guessing that she could turn into a human he was still surprised when a teenage girl with cat ears and a tail walked out of the room the cat had disappeard into. "Nice to meet you too Sherri." He said making a mental note of her name. He nodded his head and held eye contact while he shook her hand. "I'm Deputy Fredrick Chapman. Kind of an old mans name though. You can call me Freddy if you'd prefer." He let go of her hand and casually glanced over at the other girl she was no longer completely turned away her blue eyes now fixed on the two other girls.

"I'm just checking in, if any of you feel like you might be in danger I can take you home if you need a ride. That's what I'm here for. To make sure you're safe." He doubted he'd be able to get any real information out of them with them all together and legally he wasnt able to question them without a parent present.
Sherri nodded and smiled warmly.
"Thanks." Brisa replied, relaxing. "I think we should be okay though." She wasn't getting in any stranger's car, police or not. "Thank you so much!" She repeated, equally to him and to Sherri for diffusing the tension.
"Yes, thank you. I will definitely remember to call if anything happens." Sherri didn't actually have a functioning phone right now. So there was no chance she could call anyone. "Welp, good to see you. I am glad there are people I can trust running the neighborhood. I mean, it's been a long time since I met a member of the police force in third grade."
"Thanks for checking in, I really mean it. It's great to know people care," Sherri repeated, eyes shooting towards the door.

River nodded. "He may know something about the key or Pure. And I was thinking, if he is alive, the Pure probably know it. And he is probably on their targets list." She glanced at Lachlan. "Gage saw you walk off with your cousins. Were they attacked at the park too?"
Lachlan winced, thinking of Bleddyn. "Yes, but uh, they're okay. Everyone split up, Camilla raced off and Alice went into a store."
"And Bleddyn?"
Wolfram winced, thinking about Bleddyn."Um....She's fine to, We walked with her to her house and then came here."He answer quickly, elbowing Lachlan quickly and gently, so River wouldn't see.

Lachlan nodded calmly, and River watched them closely.
(Sorry, I'm tired and idk what to write XD)

Wolfram looked up a River, and then looked out the window on the door. His eyes widened in fear. Mapleshade was standing there, and this time n was real."Lach.....lan....."He whispered, his voice tinged with fear.

Fredrick shifted his foot back leaning to give them a bit more space, he could tell they felt like he'd cornered them and that's not what he was going for. "If you need anything, anything at all don't hesitate to give me a call." he quickly pulled a small plastic folder out of his inner jacket pocket and handed them each his business card.

Alice reluctantly accepted the card, briefly making eye contact. "Thanks" she said though it was barely more than a whisper. He held up a fourth card and sheepishly poked his arm between the two girls to place it on the counter. "Thanks for your time. Have a good day." He said and left with a quick wave smiling. As he turned away he dropped the smile, there was more work to be done today, and he was likely going to be completely soaked before the end of it.

"Well, thanks!" Sherri said brightly. As he left, her bright mood changed. "I kinda feel sorry for him, having to investigate all that in the rain. I guess that's just what you expect when going out for that job."

"Yeah." Brisa took a deep took a deep breath as he left and glanced down at the card in her hand before she turned to Sherri. "Thanks for that. I was nervous there for a while. I don't really know why, though." She laughed nervously, breaking the tension.

"Um hum. No problem. Well anyways, I really have to go home now. My mom is coming home from work soon. My dad is on a business trip right now, he won't be here for a couple days," Sherri exclaimed.

Alice breathed a sigh of relief when he left. Her heart was still racing. "Sorry guys." she smiled weakly. "I don't like the police. He seemed like a pretty good guy. Just they give me the creeps. I should head home soon too. I don't know where Camilla is hopefully she's ok." Alice looked over at Maryella (@Fanci Feathers Marans ) who hadn't said anything the whole time wondering what was going on in her head. What kind of secrets did this strange merwoman have? She must have some kind of history with the police if he didn't even bother saying anything to her, the only adult in the whole room. "I might be back to take you up on that offer." she said to her. "What kind of things are you interested in, what would you want in exchange for that information?"
