"Uh-" Grace stumbled. She put her hand against a tree. The ground seemed to be spinning. "I need to find Peter first," she said. "He'll get worried. Probably do something stupid." She squinted at the ground, as if daring it to keep moving.

"Where?" Peter asked, hoping Fritz hadn't noticed his voice shaking. He looked intently at the woods, not seeing anything at first. Then he spotted Grace, Jessi, and Toby walking out of the trees. He must have good eyesight. Peter noted, then looked at Fritz awkwardly, "Um.. thanks," he said, then realized that it might've been the wrong thing to say. He quickly ran over to Grace, afraid that he had made the conversation awkward. Like he did with all conversations.

(I'm just assuming they aren't in the car yet)

"Are you coming with us? I can take you guys home." Toby asked Peter & Grace. He walked to the car with Jessi & Alpha, and glanced behind him to see if they were following him.

Alice breathed a sigh of relief when he left. Her heart was still racing. "Sorry guys." she smiled weakly. "I don't like the police. He seemed like a pretty good guy. Just they give me the creeps. I should head home soon too. I don't know where Camilla is hopefully she's ok." Alice looked over at Maryella (@Fanci Feathers Marans ) who hadn't said anything the whole time wondering what was going on in her head. What kind of secrets did this strange merwoman have? She must have some kind of history with the police if he didn't even bother saying anything to her, the only adult in the whole room. "I might be back to take you up on that offer." she said to her. "What kind of things are you interested in, what would you want in exchange for that information?"
"Byeeee!" Sherri said, giving Brisa a quick hug and heading out the door to her car, dodging raindrops.
"Be safe and have fun!" She said, echoing so many elementary school teachers. She put the key in transition and drove away. As she arrived home, she saw her mom's vehicle was already in the drive. Her mother was leaned over the counter, auburn hair falling in her face, face glowing from her phone, ears twitching to acknowledge Sherri's presence. She looked over her coffee cup.
A petite woman in her mid-forties, she was still delicate enough to look sixteen, but crows feet and peppered hair roots revealed her age.
You almost didn't want to squeeze her because she looked so fragile.
"So, what did you do today?" asked Emily, her mom, casually. Her mom was cool, real cool.
"Oh, just walked to the park from the IHOP with my friends. Hung out there. Broke my phone."
She sighed with relief when her mother didn't show any suprise in her face about the IHOP. She must have not heard about the incident.
"Who was there?" Her mom asked.
"Brisa," Sherri said, know her mom would remember Brisa because she visited sometimes. "Alice Fluer, Zion and Delilah, children of the owners of IHOP.
Finlay Loson, a couple others."
Her mothers eyes narrowed, remembering something.
"I recognize those names," Emily said, but didn't say more about it.

Brisa hugged her back and watched her friend dash through the rain towards her car, then turned back to the siren, wondering what her offer was promoted by.

Tayn sat at the table peeling potatoes, Thomas was at work he wouldn't be home until later. She sighed bored, the kids had taken off early in the morning and she knew when they eventually made their way home she would have to start nagging them again. They didn't like it, but neither did she. Having to be the one who was constantly on their case about getting things done was stressful. All she could do was hope that at some point they would realize just how much energy went into everyday life. Making sure everyone had clean clothes, and had food to eat, wheather they liked it or not was somthing that she didn't want to be responsible for. But someone had to do it. So it just got done. If her kids realized that things didn't just happen on their own, that effort had to be made for every little detail, maybe they wouldn't complain as much.

The phone rang interrupting her throughts. Tayn's eyes glazed over looking at her hands covered in potato juice, beifly considering not answering the phone. She didn't want to talk to anyone right now. She sighed putting down the knife and half peeled potato, wiping her hands on the back of her jeans.

She picked up the phone and looked at the caller ID, it was Gage. She hadn't talked to him in a while and should really answer. She swiped the green phone symbol.
"Hello?" She said trying to hide her reluctance to be on the phone.

"Hey," he sounded like he didn't really want to be on the phone either. "Uhhh, the kids kinda got into a fight at the restaurant. They left, but you should probably talk to them about it. Delilah started it, but they," He sighed heavily, she could tell he was having a rough day and the last thing he wanted to do was call her to tell her that her kids were being a problem. "Camilla got in on the fight too, and Alice took off with Bleddyn who was supposed to stay here because she was the one that wouldn't stop. Anyway. I don't actually know where they went. Just, maybe talk to them about it." Tayn was silent, letting what he said sink in. What was she supposed to do with them? It's not like they ever listened to anything she said.
"Ok. I'll talk to them when they get home. Thanks for letting me know." She hung up, thunder rumbled outside. Tayn looked out the sliding glass door, sudden anxiety over the weather running through her. She took a deep breath and forced herself to relax, the weather wasn't being caused by her. It was a normal late fall storm. She shook it off and sat back down at the table, picking up the knife and potato again. She was more aware of the sounds around her, the quite house suddenly seemed to come to life, the fridge humming, the flashing dots on the microwave, the ticking of the analog clock in the living room all fighting for her attention.

The door pushed open and a tall man in a dark blue police jacket stepped inside he moved to take off his cap, but only adjusted it atop his head so that the brim sat a bit higher. His brown eyes scanned the room noting each person. The girl infront of him by the makeshift table seemed quite young her bright green eyes looking up at him she seemed startled. The other girl was in the corner she seemed to be afraid of something avoiding looking directly at him. The Merwoman in back seemed to be completely comfortable with his presence, She was obviously the store owner, relaxing in her tub. "Morning!" He said cheerfully trying to put the younger ones at ease. "We were called about a disturbance in the park. It happened right out side of this fantastic little shop, there were several people involved, did any of you see what happened?" He smiled broadly trying to make eye contact with each of them. The girl in the corner still avoided his gaze, picking at a loose splinter on one of the wooden shelves.

Sherri resisted the urge to tell the police the truth and nothing but the truth. He seemed so nice and easy to talk to. How old is he exactly, Rose Quartz.
What could get them in trouble anyways?
But the usually outgoing girl remembered Indigo's warning, and despite Indigo being a despicable liar, Sherri was still concerned by it. And she was put off by Alice's fear.
She decided as the legal adult, the merwoman would have to take all of the questions, and Sherri couldn't take the blame if the adult stranger shopkeeper told lies, could she?

"Um," Brisa began to speak, but stopped. She didn't want to lie, but could she trust him? She knew she should. But what if he's secretly one of the Pure? "Um, well, there were some people out there, I think..." She trailed off, trying to play dumb, and glanced hopefully towards the others for help, hoping he wouldn't notice the slight shake in her voice.

And they tried to attack some people, Sherri said, knowing no one but Sandy would understand her.
Really? Sandy said. That is why you are here?

(He has a nice mom. I think it's funny he wanted a dog and then Sherri has like cynophobia or something.)

(uh, IDK. 40's?)

The shop owner likely wouldn't have seen anything he surmised since her normal place seemed to be at the back of the shop.
He smiled reassuringly at the young girl and followed her gaze as it went first to the girl in the corner and then to an orange tabby cat. That's strange he thought, why is she looking at a cat for help, unless, it suddenly clicked in his head that these kids were probably at least some of the inhumans that were part of the fight. And the cat was actually a person

"I'm just here to make sure everyone's ok. I heard that there were a few people who looked like they got hurt?" He was tentative with his question he didnt want to push it and have her clam up.

(Internet died on my comouter partway through typing this. if it seems like something's missing let me know i had to fill in what was missing on my phone)

Brisa made note of his observation and mentally kicked herself. "I think I saw a few people get hurt, maybe, but then they all went different ways. They probably went home." She replied. Calm down. You're still not lying, you're just...... bending the truth a little bit? I hope he can't tell! She thought desperately.

Despite guessing that she could turn into a human he was still surprised when a teenage girl with cat ears and a tail walked out of the room the cat had disappeard into. "Nice to meet you too Sherri." He said making a mental note of her name. He nodded his head and held eye contact while he shook her hand. "I'm Deputy Fredrick Chapman. Kind of an old mans name though. You can call me Freddy if you'd prefer." He let go of her hand and casually glanced over at the other girl she was no longer completely turned away her blue eyes now fixed on the two other girls.

"I'm just checking in, if any of you feel like you might be in danger I can take you home if you need a ride. That's what I'm here for. To make sure you're safe." He doubted he'd be able to get any real information out of them with them all together and legally he wasnt able to question them without a parent present.

Fredrick shifted his foot back leaning to give them a bit more space, he could tell they felt like he'd cornered them and that's not what he was going for. "If you need anything, anything at all don't hesitate to give me a call." he quickly pulled a small plastic folder out of his inner jacket pocket and handed them each his business card.

Alice reluctantly accepted the card, briefly making eye contact. "Thanks" she said though it was barely more than a whisper. He held up a fourth card and sheepishly poked his arm between the two girls to place it on the counter. "Thanks for your time. Have a good day." He said and left with a quick wave smiling. As he turned away he dropped the smile, there was more work to be done today, and he was likely going to be completely soaked before the end of it.

"Well, thanks!" Sherri said brightly. As he left, her bright mood changed. "I kinda feel sorry for him, having to investigate all that in the rain. I guess that's just what you expect when going out for that job."

"Yeah." Brisa took a deep took a deep breath as he left and glanced down at the card in her hand before she turned to Sherri. "Thanks for that. I was nervous there for a while. I don't really know why, though." She laughed nervously, breaking the tension.

"Um hum. No problem. Well anyways, I really have to go home now. My mom is coming home from work soon. My dad is on a business trip right now, he won't be here for a couple days," Sherri exclaimed.

Alice breathed a sigh of relief when he left. Her heart was still racing. "Sorry guys." she smiled weakly. "I don't like the police. He seemed like a pretty good guy. Just they give me the creeps. Maryella huffed. "Didn't even say hello, the old cheek." She said as Sandy sashayed back to the tub and leapt up onto the glass wall, seemingly unphased by the water. She lifted an arm up to rub the cat's head. As the cat embraced her hand, the water droplets rolled off her fur like it would off a duck's back. "Anyway, I've been thinking. I have a few old newspapers and magazine clippings stuffed in a... an old... what do you call those things? Folders." Upon further aggravating by the cat, Maryella relinquished another fish-flavored treat from the tin. "The folder has all kinds information in it from before the Pure had a name. It might place some names and figure out who to ask."

That would actually be very useful. Alice stepped out of the corner and walked closer to the tub, she pulled the chain she wore around her neck pulling in to the outside of her sweater. A faintly glowing blue crystal dangled from it, set in a crafted pendant. "This crystal can heal people, bring them back from deaths door. Would this pay for the information you have?" Her mom WAS going to kill her.

(I'm so sorry guys, life has been so busy and unfortunately I won't be on byc much. :( I would have loved to continue to rp since I waited so long, but no. I think it's best if I leave it. Finlay is still alive but decided to stay home and let his brother have all the adventures. Sorry @RiverStorm #Loki. )

Wolfram looked up a River, and then looked out the window on the door. His eyes widened in fear. Mapleshade was standing there, and this time n was real."Lach.....lan....."He whispered, his voice tinged with fear.
Lachlan's spine prickled, and he turned his eyes away from the figure. Mapleshade, we can't let her get Wolfram. He opened his mouth to speak, but a commanding voice interrupted him. "Lachlan, Wolfram, act normal. Wolfram, keep your face from her sight. I'm going to see how much it takes to get her to leave." She said darkly.
She strolled to the door, opening it enough to stick her head out. Her face had changed, a small smile now adorned her face, her eyes sparkling with kindness. "Hello. May I help you?" She said politely, mustering kindness into her voice.
