«We Could Be Legends»

My whiskers twitched, fighting a sniffle. «They did all kinds of things. All within a few days. Buildings collapsed, Zi. Buildings with people in them.» I didn't feel like shifting back, people could tell I was crying then and that would only make things worse. So I hobbled down the first step, not sure where I was going. I needed time. Time to think this out. To decide. «Lachlan's place isn't far from here. Maybe we can stay there for the night.» I hopped down another step. «Get my leg and housecoat,» I said, not caring again. Then the little voice inside came up and poked me. I stopped. «erm, please?»

The Sirin shifted on her innertube, drumming her nails on the glass wall as she thought. "You know, this is quite a lot of information you're asking..." She lifted her nails to inspect them. Noticing it were chipped on one side, she stuck her index finger in her mouth and nibbled at it. "What do you plan to trade for it?"

When she heard Sherri's warning, she motioned to a rope hanging from the ceiling. "You can hide in the attic. Cat girl should blend in with Sandy just fine." She said.
(Oooooo this is going to get spicy)

Wolfram looked up."I have to go back to Mapleshade's and grab my backpack, it has some of my clothes in it."
River slid her eyes over to look at Wolfram. Must be family.

"Perhaps she won't be home." Lachlan said, trying to have a optimistic outlook.

"Or you could use some of Finlay's or Lachlan's cloths." River said.

Moms stuff! I can't let Mapleshade find it. Not those notes, she can't! Mapleshade will destroy them, everything mom worked at..... Without a word to Lachlan or River, Wolfram shot out of the house, pain forgotten again for a moment, sheer desperation and panic replacing it. Mapleshade's, right there. He climbed the stairs, opening the door. His backpack, right there in the doorway."Mapleshade!"He grabbed his backpack, and now she loomed over him."What are you doing?"She snarled. Wolfram ran, he fled the house. His lungs ached, screeching for air. If Mapleshade knew what was in his backpack she would take it and break everything. He opened Lachlan's front door, dashing inside, and closing the door. His hands trembling violently, he set his bag down.

Peter was feeling a little bit lost. Alice had said to scatter, and now everyone was heading off in different directions, including wyvern-Jessi and his sister. Oh, man. How am I supposed to explain Grace to my parents? He watched Alice approach the mermaid lady. Maybe he should go over there. But, then again, there were a few cops over there, and he didn't feel like having to talk to them.

Fritz elbowed the other boy when he noticed Peter's indecision. Though he hadn't at all involved in the confrontation to a lawfully punishable extent, it'd probably be best if they didn't draw attention to themselves.
"You might wanna go help out over there," he suggested in a low voice, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. He pointed up at the tree where Jessi and Grace were. "Looks like she's waking up not exactly coherent."

"Your friend do that much?" River muttered as Wolfram shot out of the house.
"No clue." Lachlan replied.

Soon Wolfram ran back in, and Lachlan and River turned their heads to him. "You okay, Wolfram?" River said, looking the shaking boy up and down, her ears flicking.

"Uh, yeah, probably not, no."Wolfram gasped, his chest heaving."If a lady with cat ears and a insane look comes looking for me, you have no clue who I am, and Im not here, got it?"He told Lachlan, opening his bag. He let out a relieved sigh, two pieces of paper rolled up inside, along with some clothes.

Tayn sat at the table peeling potatoes, Thomas was at work he wouldn't be home until later. She sighed bored, the kids had taken off early in the morning and she knew when they eventually made their way home she would have to start nagging them again. They didn't like it, but neither did she. Having to be the one who was constantly on their case about getting things done was stressful. All she could do was hope that at some point they would realize just how much energy went into everyday life. Making sure everyone had clean clothes, and had food to eat, wheather they liked it or not was somthing that she didn't want to be responsible for. But someone had to do it. So it just got done. If her kids realized that things didn't just happen on their own, that effort had to be made for every little detail, maybe they wouldn't complain as much.

The phone rang interrupting her throughts. Tayn's eyes glazed over looking at her hands covered in potato juice, beifly considering not answering the phone. She didn't want to talk to anyone right now. She sighed putting down the knife and half peeled potato, wiping her hands on the back of her jeans.

She picked up the phone and looked at the caller ID, it was Gage. She hadn't talked to him in a while and should really answer. She swiped the green phone symbol.
"Hello?" She said trying to hide her reluctance to be on the phone.

"Hey," he sounded like he didn't really want to be on the phone either. "Uhhh, the kids kinda got into a fight at the restaurant. They left, but you should probably talk to them about it. Delilah started it, but they," He sighed heavily, she could tell he was having a rough day and the last thing he wanted to do was call her to tell her that her kids were being a problem. "Camilla got in on the fight too, and Alice took off with Bleddyn who was supposed to stay here because she was the one that wouldn't stop. Anyway. I don't actually know where they went. Just, maybe talk to them about it." Tayn was silent, letting what he said sink in. What was she supposed to do with them? It's not like they ever listened to anything she said.
"Ok. I'll talk to them when they get home. Thanks for letting me know." She hung up, thunder rumbled outside. Tayn looked out the sliding glass door, sudden anxiety over the weather running through her. She took a deep breath and forced herself to relax, the weather wasn't being caused by her. It was a normal late fall storm. She shook it off and sat back down at the table, picking up the knife and potato again. She was more aware of the sounds around her, the quite house suddenly seemed to come to life, the fridge humming, the flashing dots on the microwave, the ticking of the analog clock in the living room all fighting for her attention.
