«We Could Be Legends»

Indigo pouted her full lips and made her big purple eyes go big. "No. You're going to faint or die. You are pale as that cat-boy. I'm forcing you to come. I hate to do this, but you're getting sleepy," her purple eyes swirled and she hesitated more making this enchantment than before.
She watched as he tried to stay awake, but his eyes betrayed him and started to droop. He would fall into a brief enchanted sleep. It helped keep his body from getting worse from the wound.
Yes, she thought. "You did a brave thing out there. I'm just a coward. Let's see if I can find more who need my help."
She walked down back into the subway tunnel, finding the teens carrying Wolfram. "I can help him. He will be healed," she reassured the scared looking children carrying him.

Toby's eyes widened and he shook his head. "N-no, I-I won't-" He struggled to stay awake. Don't pass out, don't pass out. Is this what it feels like to be drugged and kidnapped? With that last thought, his eyes closed and he slumped over. Alpha whimpered and nudged his shoulder, trying to make his owner wake up.

Bleddyn sighed from the top of the stairs, pacing with impatience to just be out of there already. Oh how I hate pathetic cowards like Fritz who tag along for the thrill but start blubbering the moment they get their hands dirty. "Yeah, sure, but it's not like coming to play hero wasn't free choice," she mumbled testily. "Doesn't mean I have to like him."

Fritz nodded again, now trembling from a combination of residual fear and actual chill. This hallway was awfully gloomy; his hair stood on end as he mentally explored the possibility of something insidious hiding in any given shadow. "I don't think any of us wanted to just sit by and do nothing," he supplied lamely, feeling more unhelpful with everything he said. So be quiet. The scornful glares that the girl- Bleddyn, right- was shooting at him weren't helping.
Bleddyn jumped up a stair backward, surprised that Wolfram had ultimately shifted after all. She studied his limp feline form for a long moment, biting her lip as she fought against the concern that tried so hard to worm its way in. You hate him, you hate him, you hate him, you hate him, you hate him, you hate him...
"Honestly, that's slightly worrying," she finally admitted aloud, her careless tone not at all fitting the words.
She stiffened as footsteps announced the presence of another. "Not him," she moaned in loathing under her breath, taking the remaining stairs in unsteady bounds. "Not him." People like Fritz and Sherri were all the same to her- equally despised for their airheaded simplicity.

Fritz nodded quickly, wincing as another trickle of blood ran into his eye. "I came with Mrs. Loson and the others," he mumbled weakly, looking down at his ruined clothes. Dad's gonna kill me. Dad's gonna kill me. "Although, honestly, I kinda regret it."
Looking at how these three had obviously suffered since their initial capture, he suddenly felt he could've been more tactful with his selfish complaint.
Shameful, he watched silently as the more imposing boy contorted and shrank into a ridiculously meek housecat that seemed more dead than alive. "He gonna be okay?"
Lachlan sidestepped closer to Bleddyn to mutter quietly to her without Fritz hearing her. "Let's hate on him later, he did risk his tail to come here to save us." He murmured silently. Honestly, he didn't exactly like Fritz and Sherri either, especially Sherri. Fritz had an innocent annoyance to him, Sherri was plain annoying, and whiny.
He turned to Fritz. "He'll be fine, once we get him patched up. By the way, thanks for coming here. We'll... Remember it."
Wolfram's limp cat body rested in Lachlan's arms, the little muscle the cat had twitched in his unconscious sleep, as if he where being hit. Then he fell still, hardly looking alive, unless you looked closely.

"Lachlan, we need to take the injured to the Multitude, they can fix you up... why are you carrying a cat?" Indigo asked.

Lachlan whirled around, having not noticed Indigo. "That's Wolfram, Enchanter. And I think you should try talking about that to Mrs. Hero and my mother, they're never agreeing to that. We have adequate resources to heal them at our places."

"Young man, he's in dire need of help, and with the resources of the Multitude, he could be healed in a day instead of months. No home could carry medical supplies and training unless your mother is a doctor? And they will ask too many questions at the hospital. And this boy has no legal guardians. This could prove to be... problematic. If you want for what is best for this boy, you would take him with me. I can transport you, you can go along for the ride. And I will make a promise no harm will come to him." A funny smile crossed her face at the notion. "Enchanters promise."

Wolfram flinched in Lachlan's arms, his eyes opening for a heartbeat. He looked at Indigo, his eyes instantly widening in fear, sinking his claws into Lachlan's arm. But then, unconsciousness claimed him once more, and he looked more dead then ever.

"My mother knows how to take care of wounds. And do not scold me, I'm not an idiot, I understand that him not having a legal guardian is trouble. I understand he is in dire need of help, and I'm not taking him to a hospital. I have no reason to trust the Multitude. And 'Enchanters promise' makes me trust you less. Enchanters are capable of lies and never being caught. If we take him to your Multitude, I'm not leaving his side, Enchanter." Lachlan hissed.

"That's no problem," Indigo said. "And I'm sorry if first impressions are so incredibly horrible. Now we have to go. He's fading fast." She meant Toby, really. That cat was very rude. But she did not act one bit like she thought so.

Lachlan looked her in the eye. "Honestly, I'm usually good at seeing through liars, and I'm not thinking you're one way or the other right now." She helps herself, don't trust her. He strode forward, brushing past her, going for the way out. "Come on, Bleddyn, Fritz, Zion."

Indigo looked straight through those bright green eyes into his soul, wondering who he got them from.
"You need my help though," Indigo pleaded. I'm trying really hard not to force you right now. Still, it would be another of her stupid decisions to say that.
And yet, habitually, her eyes got real big and beggy, usually she got her way then. "You need proof that I'm all for you? Give you anything you want. I want to help you. My job is to help anyone who was hurt by the Pure, the job of our whole organization. Sorry if I'm not the greatest example of that, but that's what we do. You want to trust me, you really do, don't you?"
