«We Could Be Legends»

The man paused, then the bright smile returned to his face. "No, young miss. Haven't even seen a cat-lady with black and ginger hair. I mean, may have seen her, I don't know, but haven't sold a key to her. My apologies that I wasn't able to help." He said politely. "Anything else I can help ya with?"

"This is-- Ergha, maybe Aunt River found something from that Enchanter or the Pure." Camilla hissed at Brisa and Jessi, glancing around.

"What? I mean--" He blurted, then his smile faded, replaced by worry. Great. Just great, he had to go and run his big mouth. "Uh, couldn't help hearing you saying something about an enchanter and the Pure, what business do you have with them folk? They're no good to be involved with."

Jessi walked closer towards him. "Do you know them? Have you ever heard of an enchanted named Indigo Alan?" She asked. Part of her hoped he never heard of her, after all, her brother was last seen with her.

Jessi snickered. It was quite amusing seeing Brisa awkwardly trying to talk to the man. "You know, maybe Camilla should take over. She seems like she would be less awkward." She said quietly to Brisa and shrugged, taking a few steps back.

Brisa stepped back, glad that the attention was taken off of her, and glanced around the shop, listening to their conversation. So far, nothing. Just her friends and the keys. Nothing seemed out of place or abnormally warm or cold.

"Uh..." Shut up, shut up, shut up you old fool! "Well, uh, yes, in a way." His eyes flicked over Jessi. "Do I know you? I feel like I know you." He said, silently hopping to change the subject.

Jessi stepped closer, concern in her eyes. "What all do you know about her? Please, this is important." She paused. "No, I don't think you know me."

"Huh, you look a lot like someone I met a long time ago... Oh uh, Indigo? She's weird but harmless. She's no one to worry about. The Pure... How do you know about them? And uh, you mentioned a River, would that be a River Katrina Fleur?" He said.

Brisa stopped scanning and turned her eerily flame-specked gaze back on him. "We can tell you know something. And we need to know as much as we can about the Pure." Influenced by the anxiety seeming off of Jessi, her voice had a slightly threatening tone that she was unaware of.

She stared at the man. "You might've seen my dad. We want to know about the Pure, since they attacked us and kidnapped some of our friends. Yeah, that River. Do you know her?"

(I have a weird conspiracy theory. What if this old man is an immortal, and he's the one who gave Gage the comic books in the prologue of WCBH!)
