«We Could Be Legends»

"Now I want to get it dirty, just to bug you." Toby said. He wiped the dirt on his hands off on his pants and grabbed the phone. He dialed in Jessi's number.
"Hello?" She said.
"Hey, where are you?"
"Toby? Didn't I just talk to you?"
"Am I really that annoying? I'm so offended. But seriously, where are you?"
"I'm at moms house."
"Well that's just fantastic." Toby mumbled. "Okay, I think we might be going there. Talk to you later."
"Ok, bye. Oh wait, did you get healed yet?"
Toby sighed. "Yes, I'm fine. Goodbye." He hung up and handed the phone back to Indigo. He said the address. "I can always drive." He offered.
"Alright, good." let's see how trustworthy that Emily is... Indigo thought.

Toby impatiently looked around. He was starting to feel guilty he made Wolfram leave. Wolf's gonna die out there. He has a concussion, he needs to be supervised. I'm such a jerk, I shouldn't have said anything. He thought. "Should I go inside and grab the others?" He asked.

"Sure why not?" Indigo asked.

Toby's eyes were slightly glossed over. The silence was painful, reminding him just how loud the voices in his head were. His head was pounding. Let us out! We can help you! Let us out and you never have to see anyone's stupid face ever again. No, I won't listen to you. I will not let you out. Toby flinched when Wolfram punched the door. The sudden noise was enough to silence the voices. "Is it your goal to punch everything? Because you're doing a great job." He snapped.

Wolfram twisted his body to face Toby, pupils slitted in rage."How dare you call me a child. I have been through more then you could imagine, and have endured pain that you would probably rather die then go through. You have no right to tell me that I am acting like a child, when you don't even know a half of the things I'm dealing with!"

"You're right, I don't know what you're going through, just like you don't know what I'm going through, or what Lachlan's going through, or anyone else for that matter. And if you've been through so much bad stuff, get a therapist. I'd be more than happy to recommend a few." He said sarcastically.

"It will not hurt me more."Wolfram growled."If I befriend no one, then no one will hurt me. If I rely on nothing and no one, I will be safe. I won't ever get hurt again."He raised a hand, and grabbed the door handle, flinging the car door open."I'm done with this."He stepped out of the car, and slammed the door shut, hissing as the cold rain hit his face. He glanced at the car, and then shifted into his cat skin, taking off down the road, ignoring the stabbing pain in his shoulder and head. I have to get away from here!

He ducked his head down, tucking it into his chest. Flattening his ears against the pounding rain, he blindly pushed onward, unable to see through the rain. His pelt clung to his body, his paw slamming against the hard tar, throwing up splashes of a water. His heart pounded in his ears, his breathing raspy and gasping. You're nothing! You've come from nothing, and you'll never be anything! You should just die, you coward! Words echoed in his ears, roaring like thunder. A snap of lighting sizzled through the sky, and thunder rolled above, the ground trembling beneath his paws.
Wolfram didn't even realize he had ran off the side of the road until he felt sodden pine needles beneath his paws. To late! Watch- Pain exploded in his head as his skull slammed against something rock solid, and stars danced in his eyes. He dropped limp at the base of a giant white pine, his soaked body laying sprawled out on the pine needles.

He couldn't move or speak. He couldn't even see, but he was faintly aware of sounds and movement around him. He could still feel the pounding rain hitting his body. He could hear roaring thunder and the engines of cars starting. Yet his mind was almost blank. He could feel the agonizing pain in his head and shoulder, and the dryness of his throat. His leg twitched, but his leg just wouldn't move. His eyes wouldn't open, and a even greater darkness was calling him. Finally, he just succumbed to the calling dark, falling farther and farther into unconsciousness, hoping he would just die.
Lachlan clenched his fists, his migraine pounding in his ears, his wounds burning with a putrid pain. "You're both idiots! Gosh, why do I even bother with you two? Leave each other alone. You've both been through terrible things-" The sound of a slamming door caused him to pause, forcing his eyes open to peer beside him-- Noticing with disgust Wolfram's absence. "Are you stinkin' kidding me?" He snarled, curling his lips in anger. "I'll go get him." He muttered, slipping out of the car and stumbling in the direction Wolfram had fled. "Wolfram! Come on, dude. Please, let's go. Wolfram?"

"Sure why not?" Indigo asked.

Toby quickly climbed out of the car and went inside. "Mrs. Loson, mrs. Hero, Zion, Delilah, anyone else I'm forgetting, we're leaving. OH! I almost forgot my stuff." Toby said, quickly grabbing his knife, lighter, and pepper spray out of the Tupperware and putting them back in his backpack.

In the very far distance, Wolfram could hear someone calling his name, his almost fully unconscious figure sprawled out underneath a giant white pine. He couldn't tell how far away the voice was, just that someone had called his name. Just let me die all ready...Or at least fall unconsious...

With shaky legs, Bleddyn labored up the front steps of the elegant house that her automated guide dropped her at. The phone-led trek here hadn't been as nearly as long or complicated as she'd expected- that, or, she'd run much farther unguided that she'd thought.
But she'd be lying to herself if she didn't admit pretty much everything hurt. This much continuous strain on her bad leg had not only done a number on it, but a negative impact on everything else amiss was felt as well.
Yup, I'm a mess. Somehow the thought put a sycophantic grin on her face. And I'm still okay.
Bleddyn raised a bruised fist to rap on the door....then lowered it, reconsidering on account of what her hands had already suffered.
Biting down on her tongue, she briefly weighed her options of arrival announcement out.

Then, she tripped a few steps back for momentum and rammed her whole right side into the door, because that was definitely the best course of action.
Jessi jogged downstairs. "What did you do? You could've broken the door! Mom would kill me if she saw that!" Jessi sighed. "Welcome in. Take a shower, before you get yuck everywhere. Here's some clothes, don't ruin them." She said, handing Bleddyn a gray turtleneck sweater and a pair of jeans.
Brisa took in Bleddyn's sodden and messy appearance, noticing her limp and bandages. "If Bleddyn looks like this, I wonder how bad a condition the others are in?" She said quietly to Jessi.

Jessi's eyes widened. "I hope they're okay." She said. She was mainly worried about Toby, but when she was one the phone with him a minute ago he sounded fine.

Lachlan glanced around, wincing with annoyance as rain soaked through his shirt and into his wound.
His eyes finally caught sight of a stilled figure sprawled under a towering white pine tree. He sighed gruffly, hobbling towards the black cat, before squatting beside him, glancing between Wolfram and the tree. Really? "I see you had a run in with a tree." He muttered under his breath, stilling his eyes on the scrawny, black, long furred cat. "You might think no one wants you around and that everyone wants you dead. Guess what, you seem to have a weird ability to drag idiots like me around after you. If your so intent to die at least die after you manage to ditch my family and I don't have to feel like a terrible person, okay? I mean, I'd rather you not die." He paused, realizing to any bystander he seemed like a bleeding boy sitting beside a partly unconscious cat, lecturing him on not dying. "Look, I'm sorry about what you've been through. No one deserves that. Argh! I'm terrible at this." He growled. "I'm going to take you back to the others, and then we're going to either Toby's or my house, okay? Don't scratch me."

(Is it bad that I started laughing at some parts?)

Wolfram could hear a voice beside him, just barely able to hear what the voice was saying. He didn't open his eyes, but his ear flicked, and the tip of his tail twitched softly. He forced his eyes to open, staring up at Lachlan for a heartbeat, and for once, he looked like he trusted him. His body gave a soft shudder, and his eyes flickered shut, his breathing slowing down some as if he had just fallen asleep.
