«We Could Be Legends»

Peter was about to teleport out of the room when he noticed that Bleddyn had decided that being a rebellious teenager and sitting on desks was more important than escaping. "No time for mental breakdowns," he muttered, coming up to her and poking her elbow. "What are you doing?!"
"I have to take my bio test," Bleddyn supplied helpfully, staring down at the lustrous floor as if she expected it to gain the ability of human speech and solve all of the debilitating mental conflict for her.
The raucous fire alarm and the hallway's clamor of rampaging students didn't affect her in the least.

Alice, swallowed hard realizing what she had done. But was it a bad thing? She'd done it to protect her friends, and herself.
Toby watched them retreat. "Cowards!" He snarled. He tossed the gun on the ground. "Is anyone hurt?" He asked, his voice softer than before. He noticed River's wound and jogged up to her. He pulled out a crystal and handed it to her. "Here. This will be better than a bandaid."
"River!" Wolfram let out a horrified yelp, shoving himself to his feet. He stumbled toward her, crouching beside her. He swore under his breath as blood welled on her clothes in dark red patches. He dug a crystal from his pocket. "Use this!" He snapped, voice edged with fear as he shoved the crystal toward her. He kept glancing behind him at Mapleshade, his pale hand trembling.

Aunt River? Alice looked over her shoulder to see River kneeling on the ground the two boys next to her both shoving blue crystals toward her. She was hurt, Alice spotted Mapleshade and two Black-suited figures hop into one of the SUV's that had blocked in their car. The tires spewing up clods of mud as they pulled away. What had they done? River was hurt, she didn't give them the key, and now River was hurt. And they were leaving, probably to go back and start killing off everyone else she cared about. No one else would have a gun to protect them. Camilla! Alice stalked over to Taylor grabbing her roughly by the collar of her shirt. "Your phone! Give me your phone!" Even though it was out of bullets she hadn't dropped the handgun, she didn't realize just how intimidating she looked covered in someone elses blood, a gun in her hand, and a wild look in her eyes.

River stared at the two boys dumbly, her hearing echoing with her own rapidly increasing heart beat and all other sounds starting to go fuzzy, though she understood when they pulled out crystals.
She reached out a pale hand for Wolfram's crystal, her body shaking, and all color draining from her face before she timely face-planted in the dirt as her body's strength began wearing away.

"Ok, ok!" Taylor yelped, shoving her phone towards the other girl. "You can have it! Please don't kill me!"

"River..." Wolfram sobbed. "Please, I can't lose you to. Please. Just hold on." He snatched the crystal back, moving her ever so slightly. The sight of the wound through her torn shirt made him feel sick, crimson blood drenching the dark colored fabric of her shirt. Surprisingly, the crystal snapped open easily, the blue bugs spilling over the wound. He choked back his sobs, heart beating wildly. "Please work....please..."

Toby stood up and took a couple of steps away. He didn't want to crowd her out, as that was probably the last thing she wanted. He shoved the crystal back into his pocket, and bit his lip. He looked at everyone else, looking for more injuries. He grabbed a few guns, and started switching the bullets from one, to the other.

Alice grabbed the phone letting Taylor go, and dialed Camilla's number. "Pick up, pick up!" she whispered to herself pacing in a circle

River blinked rapidly, trying to keep her vision clear from the black spots that she knew would soon appear.
She flinched at the feeling of the stuff tumbling out onto her, but awaited the release from the jaws of pain with earnest.
But as the pain didn't dissipate, the muscles and organs didn't knit back together, she groaned. Nothing?
She muttered something incoherent, twisting her head to look at the wound, and winced from both pain and an odd disappointment as she did.
The crystal hadn't worked.

Zachary sat in the back of a surveillance van, he was bored and cold, no one had tried to contact the inhumans at this house. He wanted to go home and have a hot shower. He yawned, and adjusted the headset, why couldn't it be more comfortable?

He jumped in his seat mid-yawn a phone call buzzing in his ear. Some one was actually going to call and try to warn them?

Alice grabbed the phone letting Taylor go, and dialed Camilla's number. "Pick up, pick up!" she whispered to herself pacing in a circle
Camilla glanced at her phone that laid beside her, giving a confused look as the name 'Taylor' popped up on it. Who's Taylor? She wondered dully, reaching out and answering her phone, moving it to her ear's side as she walked away from the others so that they couldn't hear her conversation. "Hello. Um, who is this?" She rasped weakly.
