«We Could Be Legends»

Toby shrank farther away from Indigo under her glare. He didn’t know what he did to make her upset. “I-I’m sorry,” he said, watching Alpha as he continued to paw at Toby’s arms.
Under different circumstances, Toby might’ve laughed at the absurdity of Indigo’s enchantment. “They-they won’t leave. When asked. Even nicely. They won’t leave me. I... I’ve tried.” Toby said softly.
"Hmm," Indigo growled something under her breath about how useless her ability was when everybody seemed immune to it. "Something to help you relax then," she decided. She spun around to think, her face wrinkling. I think my governess was Mary Poppins, she always had the best songs. Especially for when I was feeling sort of awful. Especially when I asked where my mom was.
Then she spun back to face him, her face smoothing to serenity. Indigo had the most beautiful singing voice, soft and fragile like a child's.
"Quiet the voices in your head, they don't exist, just go to bed.
Don't list to the words in your ears,
Let my words drive out your fears.
Drive them out,
Worry not,
By your bedside I will stay,
until you waken unto day."

That all sounded cheesy and childish, like some kind of princess movie. But it has to work. I don't have a voice like this for nothing. Right?
‘So... you mean he’s having an episode? Great. That’s just peachy. Leave it to him to not be able to pull it together until we’re somewhere safe,’ Jessi snarled, looking towards the car Toby was in.
She moved towards the nearest dead Pure member, grabbing his arm in her mouth and flying away. When she came back she was in her human form, wearing the mans clothes.

River stood up, allowing Alice to begin healing her, gritting her teeth as her wound stitched back together, and a fractured rib mended. "Th- Ah... Thanks, Alice." She rasped, meeting her niece's eyes with her tired, remorseful ones. I wish you were right, Ali, I really wish you were right.

"Jessi, what can you tell me about Toby's episodes?" River asked, glancing back at the girl.

Jessi hesitated, looking back towards the van. “Normally I wouldn’t tell people, but you’re kind of stuck in the middle of this...” she trailed off, looking back at River. “Mom and dad have probably mentioned some of his issues, right? What all have they told you?”

Toby quietly listened to Indigo sing. Not only was her voice relaxing, but it also gave him something different to think about, temporarily distracting him from the fear and voices echoing through his head.
His body visibly relaxed, his breathing changing into a slightly more normal pattern, though it was still strained. His eyes changed into the normal shade of dark purple, though they didn’t have the same light as they did earlier in the day.
Alpha rested his head on Toby’s chest, happy to see his owner was feeling a bit better, and proud from another job well done, unaware it was Indigo and not the power of doggo love and affection.
Toby leaned his head against the window, his eyes drooping slightly. He was starting to realize just how exhausted he was, and Indigo wasn’t helping that.

Alice pushed herself to finish healing River more quickly than normal, if they were going to be talking about private things she shouldn't be around to hear.

"I think you're all done." She said ducking her head to excuse herself from their conversation.

“Yeeeah,” Indigo drawled. “That chicken.”
By now she had gotten most of the zombies... I mean people... organized. She had even discovered some members of the Multitude that could help. Now they were figuring out what to do with the injured and such and she could focus on other matters. Like Toby. “Where’s Toby now?” she wondered.

Alice made her way over to the group of people she was mostly sure she didn't know. She pulled the gem the fairy had given her out of her pocket. It had dimmed significantly, but still held some light. Maybe this is what's keeping me going. No one seems to be affected by the jolt of energy my healing gives either. Annie sighed not wanting to think about the differences between this place and what she remembered.

"Hi," She said to a shirtless man who was bent over some one, wrapping a bandage. "My name's Alice. I'm a healer. I'm sure you guys could use me."

Grace had been loitering by her brother, uncertain and generally confused. I guess I need to- I'm so unqualified for this- she knelt down, then shot back up again. Hey, is that.. Alice? She's a healer now?? She scrambled over to her. "You can heal people? Is there a way to, like, energize someone?" Grace stared at her eagerly.

"Grace?" Alice looked over at Peter who was still laying on the ground. "Weren't you there while I was healing his leg?" She asked, though who was she to question someones memory. "Normally, my healing makes people really hyper for a bit, but, it's not working like that right now. I don't know why." That's probably the biggest reason I can't believe this is real. Why would my powers be acting weird? "It might have something to do with this." She said holding up the small yellow orb. "Do you want me to try with out it?"

Indigo watched the sleeping man for a while, the soft rise and fall of his chest. She closed the door to prevent drafts from entering the vehicle and stood there for a while.

(Ah, dang, I forgot XD)

"Uh-" Grace looked at her feet sheepishly. How could I forget that? Maybe I just couldn't see straight. I still can't see straight. She put her hand to her shoulder, wincing as she touched it. This shoulder's gonna really start hurting soon.. "Uh, yea, sure," she mumbled.

"Wolfram, I wasn't directing it at you. I agree with you and Cam, in this situation." River said blankly, casting her dark eyes over at him. "I want to find Bleddyn just as much as you, I've known her since she was born."

Camilla shook her head, her fists clenched. "Since when did you did you get like this?" She spat, turning on her heels and stalking away over to Finlay and Lachlan who were standing beside an unconscious Ash, watching awkwardly as the four argued.

River's heart sank, looking over at a battered Brisa. She was friends with Sherri... And Connor was pretty much every one of these kids' uncle-figure. She crouched down beside her, a look of sympathy on her face. "Yeah, I... Saw it happen. I'm sorry, Brisa." She murmured, her voice suddenly soft once again.

Wolfram rolled his eyes, and just waited in silence. Slowly, the throbbing in his leg and his arm faded, and he felt a lot less dizzy and sick then before. He pulled away suddenly when he heard Brisa's voice.

He turned around suddenly, not realizing she was there. "Oh...Brisa. I'm sorry, I...yes. They...they died." He looked away from her, unable to look at the sheer horror and grief in her eyes. "I'm so sorry, Brisa."

“Oh God.” It came out as a whisper, and she buried her face in her hands. No tears would come, however, and she felt even more terrible about that. I guess I’m still in shock or something.
