The babies are brats, especially if you get them from a hatchery. They tend to peck each other's eyes if you use a heat lamp. :hmm These guys seem to be doing well with Parakeet though.

GL and SL orps are from England. They have SO many more breeds/varieties across the pond... It just ain't right. ;-; XD
What ain't right is how I live in England and still can't get all the varieties I want. XD THEY'RE SO CLOSE. BUT SO FARRRR. ;--;
 
It makes me happy to see mother hens brooding their chicks. I've had my chickens for 2 years and every time they see baby chicks they act like they have never seen such a thing in their life!:idunno

All of mine do that too, except Parakeet. Only the good broodies act like you'd expect when they see a chick. :lol:
 
What’s the best, friendliest, most attractive rooster?
Well, my Marans are nice, but it depends upon how you raise them. The one I cuddled as a chick turned sour when he got big, but the ones I paid little to no attention to are just as gentle as hens.
