I feed a private label. They ran out of bags and now it just in a white sack.

What's unique and common to all these non animal protein feeds is that they do not contain naturally occurring methionine and lysine. These 2 amino acids are considered self limiting in poultry feed since chickens can not synthesize these amino acids. For soy based feeds these AAs are syntheticly manufactured and added to our feeds. If you want an interesting and educational read Google these in relation to poultry feed.

This year I started supplementing my feed with catfish chow. It is animal protein based and these AAs are naturally occurring. It makes a difference I can see in quality of feathering and muscle. A 50lb bag is $13 and lasts for 2 months. Less than scratch.

So i went to TSC for feed today. I hope this hasn’t already been discussed, I apologize in advance if so. But they had these white bags, no printing on them at all! Just an analysis tag. I asked one of the workers what was up with them, he said just a new feed we’re trying. Less expensive. Dumor layer is $10.99 here, this stuff is $9.99 for 50# One bag had a hole in it, so I dug some out, it looked pretty good, about like Dumor.
