My dealer isn’t raising quail anymore, and the person that got me into it isn’t either. I feel so alone. I will be lurking in this thread forever just to feel like I belong somewhere.

So this is a pretty interesting story that delves in to some of what was being discussed on here a few days ago. How we value certain animals more than others, how we consider some food and some pets, how we justify what we do, etc. a good read/listen if anyone is interested.

I will have to listen to that!! I have his book actually, got it a while ago, but never read it. May have to now.

Looks like I might have up to 3 staggered week-apart hatches in a row next month! A batch from Sara, the 100 celadon from JMF for @el dorado quail , and then it's likely I'll fill the medium incubator with F3 homebreds once the first set has hatched.

Some of the current options for incubation:

How do I pick how do I pick?! I can only attempt to hatch, like, 25 in that batch.

I am tempted to play the lottery and set up a large temporary growout within the electric fence for the summer.
