Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
I just started incubating 103 eggs in a Harris Farms 6100 incubator. Its a still-air polystyrene type. I modified it with a pc fan, effectively turning it into a model 6200 (circulated air unit). Any advice?
Temp is set to 99.5 F.
I have seen all sorts of numbers for humidity... I am trying to stay around 45%, what actually worked best for any of you?
The eggs were shipped. I have 51 Jumbo Brown and 52 TX A&M White. I let them sit at room temp for about 30 hours and then transferred them to the incubator. They are in a rotator, but it is not on yet. I will turn it on tomorrow or the next day. The idea is to continue to let the eggs settle in case there are any detached air sacks from shipping.

I keep my humidity 30% and only raise it at the end to 50%.
It has worked well for me... We are about to find out if it is going to work well for me again tonight. :fl

Brooder is ready to go.
Have it set only to 80F right now. I might bump it up a little. I will see once I see the baby quailie's reactions to it.

I only have 6 eggs this time.

They will stay in this container for just a couple of days while I finish a cage outside.

I picked up 1/4 inch hardware cloth this morning to add to the floor of one of my outside cages.
