I've had that happen before after it was dry. I just moisten it until it was free.
Maybe my eyes but is that yolk sac I see in the last pics?

When I took the shell all the way off there was a little string attached that I broke off.

Yeah, wasn't quite ready to come into the world. I've done that too, I sever it closer to the membrane and not at its navel, that way it doesn't make the navel bleed, leaves a tiny thread of umbilical but it dries fast and will fall off in a few hours to a day.
