➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Could I be added if I am not in the USA? On Aug 7th, 8pm I have set 56 Coturnix mix (including Jumbo, etc.) eggs of which 25 were infertile and 2 already died, so I have 30 now in the incubator. If Excel is calculating correctly, they should hatch on August 24th - is this correct?
I have also set another batch of Coturnix eggs on August 10th, 81 eggs, from two different suppliers, so far all fertile.
Absolutely...just let me know exactly how many hatch on hatch day.

GUYS!!!!!

Why am I just now thinking of doing this:
I could have been doing this the whole year!:barnie

Thanks! That’s helpful. I didn’t try the fork this time btw so idk if it would have worked better but used the grain shovel and then a regular pointy diggy shovel :lau dont know the true name. The grain one though I think has a pretty short handle but idk.

Definitely probably need a shorter handled tool though.

Although it was a pretty large area

The short handle improves your leverage with heavy, damp bedding, etc. I do generally use a digging fork rather than a pitchfork for that sort of thing, but I thought it was just a short pitchfork. I didn’t know it had a special name. :p I chose it this time because it was shorter... and also closer. :lau The pitchfork with the long handle makes it easier to pitch dry, lightweight hay farther.

The world of tools is so vast :old

I also measure the weight of the eggs before I put them in the incubator and then I am only keeping those quails who came out of the largest eggs. My goal is to make selections that lay the largest eggs. I started with eggs 7-10grams, I am now in the 10-12grams range and I have some eggs in the incubator that are 14grams.
