Only 3 of my jumbos :D a chickens egg is around 50 gs and a jumbo quail egg is around 15. 12 is a reg size quail egg and thats where the number 5 came from.

Wait.
Jumbo as in egg size or jumbo quail size?
The myshire jumbo eggs are 12 grams. The original quail were laying around 11 grams. Not much difference.
The one quail is still laying double yolkers at 15 grams. Consistently.

QB#6 is candled. 42 jumbo backyard eggs with 3 clears, 1 maybe & 2 cracked & developing.

I was hoping for 50% fertility. Got 92%. Off to a good start.

Ima pull out the scale for u buddy jus a sec. My doubles weigh 20gs tho that one i remember and i have a pic of already.

Whoa those are some seriously huge eggs!!

Awesome! We will have to do some trading soon. Maybe after CC gets back from burn. I am going to peaceful valley to pick up 50lbs of cover crop this Thursday. I'll wave to where I think you are as I get lost :gig

I have I think 5 boys at just over 5 weeks and 3 are crowing, mounting, and foaming already...I am expecting fighting any minute now :barnie

Looks amazing for a first try!
All the way in grass valley? I'm in Auburn off 80, if you pass the 193 exit I'm 5-10 minutes off that.. How much is cover crop and how fast does it grow?

 :th what are you feeding those things!?

Alot. I have updated pics of my quail too.

Wish i could keep them all like these. This tractor is working out real well for me. The dust baths do alot for keeping the wood in the cages clean though and then they dont have to spend all their time on wire. It dries out the poop and it all just gets knocked off thru the wire.

Really i think its the lines and the upbringing. These things could count how many times theyve run out of food or water on one foot. They say each time that happens it retards their growth and you dont get the same end product. And they Eat Alot. My goodness. Like as much as my Svart Hona chickens each eat. Still nobody can touch the wyandottes though. Those feather dusters eat more in three hours than a group of 5 quail eat in 24.
