thanks for posting! what age were they? the 3 boys i tagged today i was guessing between quarter and half pound but they are only 6-7 weeks so maybe it’s best that i gave them a pardon for now

Let me double check but I think they were exactly 6 weeks old.

They were hatched on August 10th and we butchered them on October 10th.
So 8 weeks?

Quail are white meat birds.

Everything I've read says they are dark meat. And they taste like dark meat.

I decided not to feed this batch fermented feed because this go around I am not able to feed them as often as I could last time. Anyways I need to figure out how to stop them from making a mess. I haven't figured it out yet.

They now have dirt.

Nope, they are white meat, I think they have the taste between a chicken and a turkey.
