I seem to remember you needed mirin. Teriyaki sauce is equal parts sake, shoyu, mirin, and sugar. If you don't have mirin, you can add a bit extra sake and sugar and it's close.@Nabiki was it mirin I needed? Or something else? Can’t remember if that was the one I needed or the one I could substitute with haha turns out our grocery store has that and just about every other sauce you could imagine and quite a big Asian section haha
