Aerial spraying?? What kind of a dystopian hellscape do you live in that requires mosquito control on that scale?

They spray here in Massachusetts/most of New England too. We actually have EEE really bad this year; 3 people have died so far, 10 infected. We have West Nile too. We have a TON of mosquitoes here. Tons of ticks and Lyme disease too.

Hmmm. I'm still allergic to snow. Tempting, but ... snow.

Make it 10 million and a heated greenhouse. I'll need more sunshine also.
Do you mean that this scenery holds no allure to you? Impossible.

One with a bunch of soccer Mom's that are worried about dying and protecting their only, precious child (did you know child birth is nasty and hurts!) from West Nile Virus and Avian Influenza. Add malaria, leukemia, and ebola on top of that. Every person with animal husbandry experience knows you don't just breed once, you breed a lot and let Darwin decide. Everyone should have spares. Cause, ya know, life happens until it doesn't.

News flash! You live in a swamp. There will be mosquitoes. Big bloodthirsty ones. With great, big fangs! If you don't like our swamp, return to your concrete jungle.

Apologies for all. Sore spot for me. Should I start on HOAs, the futility of a well manicured, mono cultural lawn, or the banning of livestock in neighborhoods? Yes, I might be a surly curmudgeon lacking in altruistic tendencies.

I mean, I agree, HOAs and all this perfectly manicured gingerbread cookie cutter house crap is ridiculously stupid but I’d also rather not die thanks :lau

But I do think dumping chemicals everywhere is ridiculous and it’s bound to effect the environment whether they say it does or not.

I wonder if there are more natural sprays? Cause I would gladly pay to have a natural spray done than have the town dump chemicals on the chickens and wildlife for free.

I think we have to get on a list to have private residences sprayed anyway so I’d much rather just pay.

Or even just put bug spray on myself and wear a hat/long clothes and suck it up haha

Lawns are the quintessential expression of excess money and stupid standards. They make deserts look diverse and productive. They don't even feed bees or butterflies—they're just one kind of grass mowed in ever-increasingly stupid patterns.

I’ve always thought lawns were stupid. We don’t take care of ours. It’s mostly weeds in some spots but we don’t care :lau

We let the clover and dandelions and whatever else grow.

:love
Will you be my neighbor?
:hugs

X2

Not for a million bucks, Mr. Rogers. You can, however, be my neighbour. There are a few houses for sale locally.

I’ve always wanted to move to Canada. :lau

Although I thought you and I were running away to Russia to live in an underground cave? :p
