Bachelor pens don't really work with these guys They will kind of just fight to the death to breed each other no matter what. And take your ear off screaming for girls the whole time too.

I have little collapsible totes I use as single-occupancy bachelor pads. Doesn't solve the screaming problem, though.

I'm staring at the dog cage right now.

I'm thinking I'm going to run to Home Depot and get some hardware cloth to wrap it in and go ahead and just split this bunch up into two smaller groups today.
While I figure out who to keep.

after sewing up more holes in the netting, i was all set to order better netting but DH talked me out of it.....he want to do the inside bird room and figure out who gets overwintered and then put the new netting on next spring. Really starting to worry about possibility of an ice or snow storm destroying the aviary especially if we are not properly prepared.

Just got the hardware cloth.

I've got a few hours to figure out how to turn the dog cage into a quail one.

I'm thinking I might try to build a stand too.
