You should be fine to switch anytime now.....it’s not absolutely necessary to grind it at all but they tend to waste less at first if it’s finer.

They are 3 weeks tomorrow so they should be fine now

I don't bother with hammering or blending. I just sift the feed that I'm giving to the adults through a mesh and I end up with plenty to feed the chicks.

What do you base your assumption on that they won't be fertile?

I will go ahead and add whatever is laid in these two cages today.

Same bologna as my first time.

They just started laying and the boys do not make any noise and I've never seen mating.

I'm actually still not even positive that there is a boy in one of the cages.
