➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Did you get two of these?

I love the paper towel.

Have you slept?

Do you have a salt tested, separately purchased, humidity gauge in there?

I slept a couple hours this morning after I put the 9 in the brooder.
No, I don't have a humidity gauge, and I realized I didn't take out the egg deck at lockdown and put the eggs onto the lower hatching deck. That probably had something to do with it too, because I didn't have the shrink-wrapping problem with prior hatches. Makes me angry at myself! There are 17 in the brooder, 4 eggs left in the bator, but I don't expect them to hatch. :he

I don't know that bator but I don't think a hatching rack thing is the problem.

I think you should buy a humidity gauge before you set eggs again.

I'm planning on a better bator, and do plan on getting a separate H gauge too. I've got a couple thermometers I need to get too.

Don't beat yourself up too much ....j12 can be a bit quirky and clumsy when trying to remove chicks....easy to get some shrink wrapped. if remAining eggs weren't pipped yet they may still have a chance. Not taking that level out doesn't make a huge difference overall

There's only 4 eggs left in the bator, they were dark when I candled them. I tossed 4 that were clear. I'm just happy the 5 that I had to assist survived their hatches.

Not hatching related.
I thought of sharing these pictures of a new couple that I have - a quail hen who fell in love with a 2-month old cockerel. They met several days ago and now they kiss, clean each other, dig dirt together and she often sleeps under his wing.
