Hi!! Iāve been searching for an answer everywhere, and canāt seem to put my finger on my non exsistent egg issue! I thought this might be the best option for an answer!
I have two breeder sets, one set of jumbo coturnix and one set of a&m whites. 3 ladies to 1 roo. Theyāre in the same pen, but they are completely divided in half by plywood so they canāt see/interact. We bought them in early September and they were just over 6 weeks old and laying. They stopped laying about a week after, and I havenāt seen an egg since. I thought they were going through a molt, but it looks like that has ended and still no egg production. Theyāre eating a minimum of 20% feed with extra protein usually twice a week, like meal worms or sprouts. Iāve had Christmas lights up on a timer to make sure theyāre getting their 16 hours of light. They donāt have mites and dust bathe in sand/dirt and DE weekly. What else can I do? Mind you, we purchased these strictly for egg production.
My mom bought the same amount, from the same person, at the same time, and all of hers are still laying every. single. day.
