➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

:rantI want to hatch some! No eggs yet darn it. I did see a couple of males having a serious discussion yesterday though so maybe it won't be too long.
For now I giess I'll have to live vicariously through you guys.
How old/young are they? I forget.

Oh @BReeder! I'm sorry :hugs:hit

Go you Sara!!! You are good at this!!!

3 girlies kiki!! That's awesome!!!

I think I will cry if I get 4million boys again!!! One of mine is very very friendly, pretty sure its the same little brown one that was trying to get out from the bator, it would run up and down to the window part everytime it saw us. Now does the same in brooder box, but with a lot of chirping!!! Hmm.. I do take it out and talk to it.. and maybe let it have supper in the mealworm box.. so I may have positively reinforced this behaviour :gig:gig:gig
But but but.. they're so darn cute!!!!

I'm ready for my babies to hatch now.

The feathers on the chest seem to start growing at the neck and work their way down, and both genders are speckled at first. So some of my girls could still turn out to be boys.
Aha....the triplets all have speckles right now. I'm watching them close to see how/if they change. They may not be girls.

This is such a long thread I think I hatched this little dude somewhere back there and have now had time to watch him grow into a boy, annoyingly. 14/24 male, it's crow central up in here -.- I have a little line of eight bachelor bins now in addition to my breeding pens.

Still pretty, still staying, but sheesh. Better luck for your maybe-girls!
