Common / comet goldfish aren't the same as fancy goldfish. 30 gallons is too small for a single common goldfish permanently, IMO. Additionally, the rated capacity doesn't mean that much, especially with more messy fish, your filtration should have at least double the rated capacity for that tank size. Why don't you build a pond that's deep enough so you can keep them in it year round?

There's a lot of misinformation out there about keeping fish. That number was for comets. The fancy one said 20 for the first and 10 for each additional.
And yeah I think a 30 is too small for them permanently too but I was just saying 75 for 4 really is not that small compared to the alternative and I don’t think it’s so black and white.
It’s also not permanently. It’s only for the winter.
And okay, should I buy a second filter then?
Or put the two 20s I have in there? Don’t really wanna buy another filter when I just bought this one and the tank so would adding the two other ones I have work?
And I want to and plan to but it’s not that simple. It’s expensive and I also can’t put them outside now anyway. I thought you weren’t supposed to put them outside in fall/winter? Don’t they need time to adjust to the cooler temps? So I can’t exactly just stick them in the ground right now.
the ideal number is 10 gal per inch of fish, BUT that can be difficult in your situation....so i agree the 75 gallon is much better for them temporarily through winter until you can get them a pond built in the spring! i’m currently at estimated 40” fish in a 300 gallonThat number was for comets. The fancy one said 20 for the first and 10 for each additional.

How powerful are your other filters?
I'm not saying you should put them out there this winter. Just build a pond that is deep enough so you can keep them outside in the winter. I've kept goldfish and koi outside in my pond for several winters, you just stop feeding them in the fall, and then start feeding them in the spring. The cold water slows their metabolism.
A lot of the caffeine response depends on how much body weight the person has and on how fast the caffeine is broken down. As you get older you’ll likely find you have a longer window of response to caffeine. I used to be like you. That’s funny. I can actually drink a hot cup of coffee and 30 minutes later be fast asleep my wife on the other hand if she has a cup of black tea an hour before bed and she is up for hours
