What kind of finches do you have?

zebras....I got a pair around labor day to keep in my button cage and they hatched 3 babies at the end of October.

Okay thanks. It kept dipping below 40 so that’s why I was so concerned. I’ve only added water twice today cause it keeps going below 40 like 36, 39. But maybe that’s fine? I don’t wanna kill them.

Are the babies even out of the nest yet?

yes the triplets have been out of the nest for a couple weeks now. mom and dad stopped feeding them a few days ago and DH already removed 1 egg from the nest but when i looked in earlier tonight, they are sitting on at least 3 more!! soooo i’ve got to either get them out or will have more babies in about 2 weeks!!
