Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
My chickens are getting back to laying which is weird because I didn’t expect them to start laying right now

Lucky!! I only have 4 laying atm out of 11 and 2 of those only started a few weeks ago. 2 of them started like September. These are all the new girls. My older ones haven’t started again yet and they quite late summer, early fall. :hit

Hoping they start soon. :fl

Some of my new girls didn’t start till the days started getting longer or at least that’s what I can figure cause they started after the solstice and they should have been plenty old enough to start way sooner. They’re 9 months old now. I still have one more I’m waiting on too. :barnie

It's still January, but I just saw my first hummingbird today. And there are people who still don't believe in climate change.

Bigger is almost always better. You have to make room for chicken math.

Very true!! My thoughts as well!! Plus if I get rid of some of the chicks or if there’s only a couple girls (still not sure on that), I think I could fit them all in one and use the other as a shed/to store their supplies or get more birds. :lau

My plan right now is to put all the big girls into the new coop and all the chicks into the old coop but I may sell some or all of the chicks and just put them together. Still undecided ha

Can you get pictures of the chicks today?

I saw two today, I think they were fighting over the shrubs by my house. I think a hummingbird nests there.
