➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

They definitely do need a roost! They’ve probably been ready for one for a couple weeks.

That looks easy enough!
Even easier...get two of these cement block things and stick a piece of wood in it.
Kinda like this:

Excellent idea!! I’m gonna go find something like that. :D

They like perching on the heat plate too (turned it off like a week ago) but I’ll go find them a real roost too

Thanks! We decided to make it bigger than originally planned. :lau

My dad and I. Made it too big to be a one person job :lau

I am participating/doing a lot though. :D

Thanks! I must admit my dad is helping me but mostly just with the cutting and lifting and other stuff I can’t do myself but I’ve done a lot of the putting it together/nailing and holding everything in place and stuff.

We decided to just build one after considering all our options (buying one on Craigslist, fixing the doghouse, etc.) and deciding building was easier and faster and we could make it way nicer than any of those options.

We did however decide to expand it once we started building. :lau
You’ll never regret making it bigger. :celebrate

That’s what I was thinking too!! It might even be big enough to house all of them! :D

Especially if I only wind up with two girls from my hatch which is really how it’s starting to look. :lau

My dad says it’s perfect cause I can use the other coop as a shed for all my stuff... I say more chickens. ;)

For now though, they will be separated and I’m moving the big girls into the new coop.

What size is it?
What does it measure length and width wise?

It’s like 8x7 but I think it might be slightly bigger than that by accident. I think it’s closer to 7.5.

May as well have just gone 8x8 like I wanted to :lau

Oh well ha

I think I’ll just keep them separated for now.

Sure the girls will be very happy with all the new room and a dust bathing spot inside the run.

But if I only end up with 2 girls I may just put them in with the big girls cause that’s stupid for only 2 to have a whole separate coop.

But I’ll probably end up with more girls than that and keep them separated. We’ll see. :fl
