➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

7 unhatched eggs left. I took a look at 3 of them. 2 had external pips (I almost dropped one when it started to zip under my finger) and 1 had no pip. I candled it, and it appears drawn down with no internal pip, but there are clear veins that appear to be pulsing, so I'd say that one is just late developing.

And now, as promised, my "painted" pansy fee.

So guys I didn’t manage to get a Mearns Quail pair at Germany unfortunately but I should be getting another pair of Snowflakes within the next month or so so I’m still happy!

My family member that went over to Germany didn't come back empty handed though:

The next pair of Snowflakes I’m getting will most likely be young and there’s a possibility they won’t lay this year but I can always be hopeful!
What are these things?

@RUNuts The only 3 I hatched this last time from the big boy's cage all have white (from their moms)...all three's color I parts look like regular quail color.
Here are two of them:
The rest were from my Pansy cage or the Tibetan cage.

So my husband graciously picked up feed for me and I sent a pic of my first and second choices for him. The guy says they just got my first choice in stock but when he brings it down from the warehouse says it is their house version they mix themselves but otherwise the same. After I opened it I realized it is exactly the one I DIDN’T want. :barnie
It is a powder (mash maybe?) and full of animal protein. Anyone else not like feeding animal byproducts to their birds or is it jut me?

I feed my birds chicken scraps, leftover ham bones, you name it.
