I blame the media campaign to create a panic. There never was any valid reason for this, but that doesn't matter. Once it starts, it doesn't stop until either the demand largely dries up because folks have enough that they're no longer scared--or people have spent as much as they're willing/able to spend--or it just peters out because nothing's happening really, more than happens every time a new flu virus goes around, and anyway, they can't figure out where to stash any more toilet paper, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, alcohol, bleach, etc. Remember Jimmy Carter's tp shortage?

I was a kid, but as far as I know, there never was ANY reason for that one.
