Yes, but I don't mind hunting for them. My pens are only 20 square feet, so it's not like there's that much space to hunt through.

That makes sense!! So yours are on the ground then? I think I would feel bad doing wire haha

I don’t know anything about quail!! But I’ll try to answer some of the other threads. I’ve actually been answering a bunch lately since like yesterday even before I saw that aha idk why. I like helping on the breed/gender threads and stuff but I’ll check out the unanswered ones!!!

Mine are on the ground too. They have rubber mats you can get if you have a wire bottomed cage. I got it for the bunnies when I put them in the hutch for the night.

Mine are having a blast digging and running. I thought they’d freak out when I walk up to the aviary, but they just come running at me to say hi. Gosh I’m glad you guys turned me to quail. They are truly the prettiest little things. Well my breeders that is

Yeah, I feel like they would definitely be happier on the ground!! I mean, they are ground birds after all.

But I guess covering the wire with dirt boxes like Kiki works too

And cages are definitely a lot more convenient or easier to build or whatever haha
