If it was me, I would put the liner in before starting the incubator in the first place.

I tried that, but the the eggs weren’t turning right.

Hey Kiki, when you put the shelf liner on the bottom do you take the lid off then lift each egg then place it down then put them all back? Or what?

That part always gives me the most anxiety, and I’m not sure if there is a better way.

I take the lid off. Next I take the entire turner, with the eggs still in it, out and set it on the counter. I quickly put the shelf liner down and then I move each egg back into the incubator after I candle it. I need the eggs to lay a certain way in the incubator when I move them out of the turner and that's what I'm looking for as I candle each one.
The whole process probably takes me 2-3 minutes. I don't know if you've noticed but I do not stress about opening the incubator.
Not even one tiny tiny bit... Of worry.

It looks like you already moved him. Next time don't move single chicks. Move at least two together.

Yes by himself, doesn't seem too hot or cold hem oves out from the light and took a nap under it.
I haven't seen it drink. I have dipped it's beak into the water twice now though
