Don't you know you should never stare an animal in the eyes....freaks them out...that's what predators do!horses are bad about it, too! Almost ever wild animal is that way.
As soon as I turn sideways they stop. 
just got out bid for some Silver Golden pheasant eggs....all I needed was $1.51 more!
Maybe they will have another auction and you will win for less money. 
Yeah, I know....but they are super rare...may not get another chance!
that's one of the things I hate about eBay....some idiot pays way more than they are worth...just to say they won!
