About 3 more weeks, that's if they are 5 to 6 weeks old now, by 8 weeks you should start to be able to tell males from females. Here is a video of the babies..... my flash on my phone wouldnāt work as soon as I went outside to take pictures of the adults.
Here is the best picture I could get of the adults. Of course they all ran and were sure I was going to eat them.

Yep I did write that kinda confusing. I took video of my latest hatch since it was easier late last night. But I got as good of a still shot of the adults as I could. The video of the adults was horrible with the red light and night time so I scraped it. And you are right the adults are in between 7 and 8 weeks old. Iām impatiently waiting for the hubs to get their flight pen up so they can have more room to run, hide, and fly around.About 3 more weeks, that's if they are 5 to 6 weeks old now, by 8 weeks you should start to be able to tell males from females.
ETA - just went back and reread your post...I (was confused) thought the video was of younger quail but wasn't sure if the stills were the same quail or not...the 'still's pics are of quail, IMHO 7 to 8 weeks old. Another week maybe two, you should start to see the change.
Another newbie question...... do both sexes spike up the feathers on the top of their head from time to time? It seems to happen when they are on alert but I could be wrong on that.About 3 more weeks, that's if they are 5 to 6 weeks old now, by 8 weeks you should start to be able to tell males from females.

I use HatchKeeper.Does anyone here use an app to track their hatches for reminders?
I'm using Hatchabatch but was wondering if there's another you guys would suggest? I'd like to be able to add notes on quitters and hatch rate from the various sources I'll be using.
I use it too. It has a notes section. Are you saying youād like a better notes section?Does anyone here use an app to track their hatches for reminders?
