Zero crowing from the males.

I can see a couple that have a whiter stripe that’s starting at the back of the head and working it’s way forward.
Yep, 1st pic I'm pretty sure it's a male,

the 3rd pic 'might' be a female...I think I see a few buff colored feathers coming in, lighter colored cap feathers, too

plus, the 'pose' is very indicative of a female. ...within a month, you should be able to tell them apart...at this stage, it's just really hard to tell female from male.

so i finally saw the creative way my babies were murdering themselves this time! I taped the box flap to the side covering the heat pad cord and put a washcloth in the bottom gap. 2 of them still managed to wedge themselves in the hole where washcloth is. while it is under the lamp, it is off the heat pad....so combination of suffocation and too cold! i removed the cardboard and just trying to do head counts periodically to make sure no one has found a gap!! also did eggtopsies and removed remaining ssc eggs today. some made it to pip others did not. the only variable I can think of to improve hatch rate is to try lower humidity. i’m going to keep pearls in the 50’s with upper level max of 60.

Have you tried or thought about lowering your humidity even more than that?

actually yes.....going to actually keep it in 45 range but figured saying that might cause a “freak out”. someone in facebook group said that he keeps 45% throughout and just had a 100% hatch on 122 eggs. and you have said that you never go above 60.

60 freaks me out.
