Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
I also have native lantana in some of my pens. It's suppose to be poisonous, too! I haven't had a bird die from eating the berries, flowers or leaves yet....it's been 10 years in some of the pens.

I was thinking about the same question but haven’t done any research. I’m thinking wisteria or English ivy maybe?
English ivy is very hard to control and will damage the the wire netting by the amount of weight being placed on it if not controlled. It also destroys brick, the rhizomes, get onto tiny cracks and grow large enough to crack the brick.

Those are both ideas I was thinking about as well due to the fast growth. But I don’t know if they will be a pain in the neck to keep it from taking my yard over.

I’m up to 21 empty egg shells (so babies) and 5 eggs left in the bator. Everyone wandering around and doing fine. 4 solid yellow at least and several yellow with the slightest brown stripes. Two that look like standard chipmunks.

Clumping bamboo is a good addition to a pen. My birds really like it, they even try to nest in it.
Don't get runner bamboo though, hard as heck to keep in control, very evasive. Will ruin a pen in a few years.

Yeah, I’d be planting it against a chain link dog run turned quail aviary. The dog run is out under some pecan trees. I would only have to trim it back at the corner to keep it on the far wall.

Can also cause contact dermatitis to people and animals
