I missed that boat.......I’ve been trying to understand that from the moment I was told to trust them.

I still don't get why they advertise the eggs as one thing if they don't breed true. That makes absolutely no sense to me.
I thought it was something to do with coturnix that I missed. And being a newbie I didn’t do my due diligence in reading. He said pharaoh and Egyptian are the only ones that breed true in the offspring. I was disappointed because I got a lot of the tuxedo/bibbed. Which is my least favorite. Does anyone have a different experience with other commercial coturnix breeders?
No other breed of birds I’ve ordered does it this way. I’ll take some pictures of the variety I have tonight. But I can tell you I have a few of every variety there is.I still don't get why they advertise the eggs as one thing if they don't breed true. That makes absolutely no sense to me.
I didn’t add any marbles to mine the first batch and came back to 9-10 drowned......What do you guys use as a waterer? Will a regular chick waterer work? With marbles maybe?
Oh noI didn’t add any marbles to mine the first batch and came back to 9-10 drowned......![]()

breeding for color = designer quail.....as low as 60% true hatch rate (in the collections like ssc and pastel) because of different color gene combinations. and dominant vs recessive colors and lethal gene combinations etcIt doesn't make sense to me. Why do they sell eggs that are supposed to be a certain color but they don't even hatch that color?
