➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I have just picked 2 lbs of clover seed. It is a non-invasive, perennial, cold-weather-productive, super protein packed, extremely grazing resistent variety. I will claw my way into the ranks of pasture-owners one way or another!

I ordered this not too long ago. Haven’t gotten around to planting it yet but I’m excited. Have tons of wildflowers to plant too and we have several large patches of natural/wild clover although the chickens don’t seem too interested. Hopefully they’ll be interested in this. :fl They have all sorts of mixes for the different regions and for different animals too.

Update on turkeys hatched at end of April. 27 alive and healthy out of 33 eggs set. 29 hatched, but 2 had defects and were culled (1 was assisted hatch). Only 1 egg was infertile. Have only been able to sell 3. People keep flaking. I'm not allowed to hatch more till I get these sold, so I might be done hatching turkeys for the year. :(

I was originally going to order from them but found most of the same seeds at one of my local stores unexpectedly at a great price! So I am selecting a cold-weather type to seed now (we're about to have a frost amid 10 days of rain) and I'll be putting in a warm-weather type in about 6 weeks to compliment it.

Those things are ridiculous. I wish I had space to grow some out for you while you're downsizing until you can up-size again. Turkey poults might be my favorite. I do not think adult turkeys will be my favorite.

The noises the adults make are really cute. The adults I have are very skittish and don't like to be touched, but there's folks on the turkey thread with lap turkeys. I'm super jealous. When we get more space I'm going to train one to be a lap turkey...

I miss my turkeys. Bourbons and BBW. All were super friendly. They would only make noises if I had strangers coming, or if I sang the Sesame Street theme, then stopped. No other song, just that.

That makes sense! And is probably smarter haha I didn’t even really think of that. Someone shared the link recently and I just found my region and ordered LOL

That might've been me. :lau Tho I found it here on another thread. I like the mix! I want a report on how it works for you :D I'm just impatient and also like supporting the little garden center.

It could have been!! Lol and I’ll definitely report back!! :D

And that makes sense!! I like to too. It’s why I try to buy my feed and such and plants from our local feed store/garden center. Unless they don’t have it in which case TSC it is. But I like supporting the little guy lol
