āž” Quail Hatch Along🄚

You dont have the same drowning concerns with the phesants? DH thought they were so neat til i explained the need for large flight pens for pairs.
A 100 square foot enclosure will house a pair of pheasants or a trio if they are Goldens or Amherst.

:lau nope not 200 but 4.5 acres. I have 6 pens that are 24' x 20' total enclosure with 4 individual pens to the enclosure and 10pens 40' x 30' total enclosure with 8 pens per enclosure. Several above ground pens for quail and ground pens, too! 7 outdoor brooder pens 12' x 3' x 3'. And then there's 2 enclosures for my Prairie chickens, 1 is 50' x 50' and the other is 100' x 50'

It turns the eggs three times a day. It is entirely possible that I just haven’t paid enough attention, but I’m not 100% it has turned the eggs. If anyone can take an above photo, I am not sure a wire is attached right.
If no one responds, I’ll go to their site or call. I’m not fussing about it too much, I still have another incubator. I just figured I’d take the easy way, and ask you guys first. :D

Put four calibrated thermometers in the bator so you can see at a glance where the cooler spots are.
This is why some people rotate the eggs around inside the bator during the whole incubation time.
It is a pretty small incubator (Janoel 12) and I have two thermometers that seem pretty reliable and one that is all over the place (but has my hygrometer on i so I keep it anyway).

Is it possible that the turners have disrupted airflow enough to mess with my readings?

Have you tried putting and egg in and check the one egg hourly to see if it is turning.

If it only turns 3 times set a timer and check every 8 hours which way the egg is facing/rotated.

It looks like you’re missing a part. The silver post in your photo should have a black polymer arm attached. Here’s a picture of mine:

The silver post rotates and turns the black arm, which pushes the turning tray. You can set it to rotate the eggs up to eight times per day. The black arm is attached by a tiny cotter pin. You should have gotten these parts in your box. If you didn’t, you need to call them. They are very helpful, in my experience.
