That one looks like a recessive white to me. No stripes means it should be solid white when feathered. Most of the ones I had hatch recessive white had eye issues, two didn't make it past a week. I hope your little guy is healthier than mine were.

I'm new at this. That is very interesting. Appears to be wondering around pecking at things fine. First day though. Better pictures when dry.

Any concerns plopping the quail chick into the brooder with the chicken chicks? That was the plan, real life the chickens are huge! I mean really big! Gargantuan.

Does anyone else hear @BullChick 's theme song as "Wooly Bully" by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs?

I have brooded them together successfully for a few days. The quail chick is going to try to shove itself under the chicken chicks. The chicken chicks will probably peck at the quail chick. It will probably be ok, but keep an eye on them for a while and be prepared to set up a second brooder.

Thats my plan for the first few days this time too. I have an extra clean brooder but i want them all directly under my nose the first three days and i need the biggest brooder for all the quail already Anyway. So ill seperate them at about 3 days once theyve got their feet good n under em.
