so upset at the loss of 1 of my quail overnight! i hadn’t my waterer too close to the edge and 1 evidently got hung in the cage and died trying to get loose. i moved both the feeder and waterer to the center of the cage.

I think it’s all the bad luck transferred to my quail! i just started with my flock in July and out of purchased chicks and turkey poults, shipped chicks, and hatched shipped eggs I had zero losses and mostly pullets. (just 1 special needs silkie that has survived 4 months now!)

i caved and ordered 30 quail eggs today to set after this hatch completes. started january HAL thread if anyone wants to join me! I’ve got to get more than my 7 if i’m going to have any meat and eggs by springtime!

We recently collected our first blue egg from the spring EE chicks. Today was the first day for 4 eggs out of 6 pullets. Getting there.
