Mine don’t lay till the evening as well. I have had lighting since they were about 9 weeks old. I have have five females and get 4 eggs a day.

How old are yours today?

Maybe lights will help the other girls start to lay.

No it wasn't me but I recommend using a daylight bulb whether it is a fluorescent or LED. I use an 8' fluorescent fixture with daylight bulbs for my plants in the living room. I also use a 120W daylight LED in the brooder during the daytime. It is not for heat because I have a GQF brooder heater in the brooder. The chicks, keets and poults seemed to do better because of the daylight bulb.

Kiki I recommend not storing your hatching eggs in the fridge. If your house is around 70 degrees, just put them in a carton on the counter till you get the number you want and then set.

No no...I wasn't storing them in the fridge. I just put some in the fridge for part of one of my "experiments."

And 70.... Um this is Texas I don't even think it's possible for my air conditioning to get my house down to 70.

I forgot to look up lights before I just went to the store. I'll get a daylight bulb tomorrow.

I was thinking I was going to use this bulb.

And 70.... Um this is Texas I don't even think it's possible for my air conditioning to get my house down to 70.

Yeah, 70°F in a home in Texas would burn the AC up, not to mention the cost of running it at that temp!
